15cl at the Ghent Beer Festival in 2014. In the glass one gets a lovely golden look. A very sour beer, even for a gueuze style. The finish is very nice. A genuine, great, tasteful beer of Girardin.

Pours a cloudy gold with a white head. Smell has a soft sweetness to it. Taste is dry and tart but with a soft and lasting finish.

Bottle to chouffe glass. Orange color. Minimal head. Maybe a little ring. Sour and fruity aroma. Taste follows. I’m getting lots of tart apple. Finishes dry.

Bottle at home. Smells of fresh apples, some sourness there too. Color is orange with a nice bubbly head. Taste is dry, acid and a little bit less sour than other gueuzes. Good one!

Frankly, I was pretty disappointed by this. Bottle at Moeder Lambic Fontinas. Poured surprisingly clear, with some floaties in the bottom. Long lasting white head that stayed on the sides of the glass. Overly sweet for my liking, changing how the sourness came across. Citrus flavours. Who knows, maybe it wasn’t the best bottle.

Essig, saurer Apfel, Aprikose, leicht rostige Noten. Recht sauer, bitter, extrem trockener Abgang.

0.375l bottle. Hazy dark golden body, white head. Aroma of mostly champagne-like yeast and brett, but it also has some fruity notes and some leather. Taste of grapefruit, apple cider and wood. Sour and dry at the same time. I liked the white label more, but this one is also nice.

The aroma has grapes and lemon zest and the first sip is a bit of a shocker. Quite bitter like citrus fruit rind. I’m not the biggest lambic guy around, but this one is def worth a try. Really unique. It’s white label brother was easier to drink and a bit more enjoyable for me, but both were something different for me. Thanks to Lagzi Lajcsi for sharing!

2010 vintage. Pours a hazy orange-golden with plenty of floaties and a thin eggshell head that settles to a thin ring and does not lace. Nose involves oak, cider vinegar, white grape, leather, mushroom, some dank musty cellar notes, tart under-ripe pit fruit like plum or apricot, plenty of earthy brett. Somewhat sweet, toward bracingly tart. Medium-light body, decent action, a bit slippery, very drying, finishing with a lingering earthy tartness that hangs around forever. Hearty yet refreshing, great brett character, very tart yet still drinkable, complex, a cool fortunate experience.
