KnutAlbert (3111), Oslo, Norway May 9, 2007 Bottled..Lovely apple aroma. Cider-like sourness, sure, bot the sourness is not overwhelming.
Metallic edge, some citrus flavour. Very refreshing. A lingering lemon finish(!) DrHomolka (726), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 8, 2007 Pours a hazy golden color with a moderate white head. Aroma is dry, winey, cidery, pleasant but mild. Taste is the same with just a little bit of tartness, sourness, and barnyard. The flavor was surprisingly subdued and mild. It was nice and balanced but compared to other lambics I’ve had it was not exceptional. Good but I prefer the 3 Fonteinen Geuze over this. larsga (2937), Oslo, Norway May 8, 2007 Medium white head. Hazy opaque yellow body.Sour earthy barnyard aroma with wooden metallic notes. More rounded and than other lambics. Intense wooden earthy barnyard taste with metallic notes. Sour, but not too sour. Dry, sour, metallic, lemony aftertaste. Very good for a gueuze. (0.375l bottle.) joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA May 6, 2007 orange glow with thin gray white head. sour lemons, with butter and apples aroma. very tart and dry flavor has the traditional sweaty leather flavor, a tart green apple barnyard cider...classic greuze...a beautiful example. a must for everyone. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Apr 29, 2007 Updated: Jun 14, 2009vintage 06/01. Hazy orange with off white head. Aroma of malts, fruity (apples & orange family)vinegar, Sour leather & earhty vinegar is the best words to descibe this. Perhaps mudd & dirt is a little strong but this is a "hard to obtain" brew. Dry end!!
Fresh bottle Carlsens Kvarter June 09. Fresh, dry, manuer, tart, lemon and woody. The level of complexity a lot lower than 3 font or Cantillon. Still pretty nice. Shorter end also. Dry . .
3,7 - 3,8 fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Apr 28, 2007 Updated: Aug 19, 2008Rating #100. Bottle from Kingdom Liquors Brandon, Fl. Pours a clear golden orange with a small white head that fades to a ring and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is acidic and fruity with notes of tart apples and lemon. Taste is the same as aroma just more of it. Very dry and tart. This beer is amazing. I wish I could afford to drink this beer daily. StateofTrance (35), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 28, 2007 A brewmasters greatest hour - that is what this beer is. Mind-wrenchingly complex, one can sense its aroma from 15 meteres away. Beautiful in everyway, may it be the appearance, the balance, the winey character, the flavor of the Brett, or the everlasting finish. Should make the grand winemakers of Bordeaux, quiver in their sleep. (My highest rating as of yet.) Fukito (604), Buenos Aires, Argentina Apr 21, 2007 Botte, April 07. Amazing, perfumey, enchanting, vinegar-stable aroma. Reminds me of my Cantillon brewery visit. Touches of lemon and hay. Shinny, almost clear, orange-golden color with swift carbonatation and a medium, bubbly white head. Flavor is amazing, fruit-tartness with just the right amount of balsamic and lemon, a slight gin tonesque prescence too. MF is light to medium, supremely refreshing and complex. Amazing, refreshing and sophisticated geuze.
