Nekronos (2261), Xalapa, Mexico Apr 22, 2006 Awesome taste, very sour, perhaps a little dry but the foam is good, the colour is unfiltered alike. I like this one much. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Apr 21, 2006 Updated: May 18, 2008Aroma is lemony, seriously yeasty, apples skins, a bit of baby sick, Amazing. Taste is similar though not as sour as expect, not balanced by anymeans, but going that way. Possibly the easiest drinking gueuze iv ever had, defo one to get again. RERATE: Up from 4.6 - 4.9. Gueuze is the finest beverage ever made! RERATE: 750 at Blackfriars while working. The complexity and body of this beast is outstanding, yet the drinkability is crazy. The whole 750 was gone in about 10 mins. jrob21 (1252), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 20, 2006 As far as my experience with gueuze, which is not much, this one seems very well balanced. Not so pungent or skunky. Aroma has a hint of rapes and more fruits come through as the beer first hits your mouth. Rather sour mouth couting. Finishes and leaves a nice aftertaste. turbothy (717), Bonn, Germany Apr 19, 2006 Bottle uncorks with an explosion of foam, and a nice aroma of funky apple cider spreads around the room. Colour is amber (aka morning piss) and the head dissipates quickly. On closer examination, the beer smells like Roskilde Festival Sunday morning, but in a good way. First sip is sour and funky, with buttermilk and apples. From here on out, it just keeps getting better. This beer is about as dry as you can get. sprinkle (114), Carmel(Indy), Indiana, USA Apr 17, 2006 Slightly hazy golden straw color, with slight head and quickly fading lace. Huge nose of wet horse blanket with a plesant dusty malt. Grips your mouth and awakens your taste buds, nicely carbonated and very balanced. Good acidtiy and clean, lingering finish. Sofajoern (146), Denmark Apr 9, 2006 Superb.
This pretty much looks like a standard pilsener. Quite big lasting head and all.
Huge aroma of grapefruit, flowers, yeasts, horseblanket and many other scents - very complex.
Very fresh and fruity taste with a huge funk factor - and not as sour as I had actually imagined.
Zesty with lots of pang. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 8, 2006 Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a fruity/citrusy aroma. Taste is sour-very sour and dry on the palate. If you like sour lambics, this is one you’ll love. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Apr 8, 2006 Thx to SoLan. Hazy orange body with a huge head. Aroma is tart, sour apples, barnyard action, lemons. Finishes dry. Dangerously drinkable. Knowing I won’t have this again any time soon... it’s taking a lot of will power to drink it as slowly as I am. Damn this stuff is good. My review didn’t do it justice.. but wow... just find it and drink it.
