The aroma is the typical sour geuze plus that of an old damp sofa in the attic. The first time I had it to oven-baked salmon and it was a very good combination. Dalle (1146), Skørping, Denmark

Aroma; sweet, acidic (lambrusco, rosé-wine!?!), wet lumber, hay... complex. Taste; starts slightly sweet, mostly sour, grape-juice-like. Really good and gets better each time I have it. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2007 Huge thanks to oakbluff for sharing this gem of a beer. Pours light orange in colour with moderate spritzy carbonation. Aromas of lemonm and old dried out wood. Fairly tart in the mouth with a bit more lemon, leather, barnyard funk, and wood. A good amount of complexity, but this gueuze is all about balance and drinkability. It’s too bad we only had a small bottle. Wonderful stuff. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 18, 2005 I say... Nice Beer… as I sit here rating away.
Poured a lovely golden mid summer sunset and thin high altitude clouds as a cap. The Aroma is white grapes, whole pressed Granny Smith apple, peel, stems, seeds and all. It’s rather woody, damp and spoiled, moldy and compounded with wet hay. I love it! It’s so grassy and acidic, it’s uniquely clean yet filthy with compost. There is such a fascinating allure to this style for me. Huge lemongrass suggestions… vinegar like… yet notes of sweetness pop in every now and again. I would say that this particular Gueuze is oakyer than most… slightly mellowed, I think. The entier tasting experience is Dry as the fires in Hell.
I will have to sample another of the Gueuze style tonight for contrast! Pwn3d (1137), Manhattan, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours perfect - huey orange with tons of floaters, its white head retains throughout session. Nose is farmhouse funk. Mouth is eye openingly ripe, dry, fruity (lemon) and sharp. Spritzer carbonation brings everything together. Acts like a Flemish Sour. Wonderful.
