In bottiglia. Colore giallo dorato, limpida, schiuma fine e bianca. Aroma di legno, torbato, pesca, mela, leggero polveroso. Al palato piuttosto tendente al legnoso, torbato mentre la frutta è un pò in secondo piano. Poco equilibrata, godibile.

Bottle at Appellation Wines. Pours clear copper orange, sparkly. Nose is wood, tart apples, sth cheesy. Taste is sour, still lots of wood, dry tart apples and fruits. Not overly complex but enough and so drinkable.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - amber with a decent thin head. Nose - apples and wood. Taste - sour apples, light wood. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tight tangy texture and a dry finish, but I’ve definitely had much drier. Overall - good but this style should be a bit drier.

Girardin gueuze white, ’14 vintage Yields a sun-yellow clean color, with a decent, froth head, collapsing to sheets of lacing. Smells of dried lemon peel, a fair amount of leather and a moldy funkiness. The fruit perishes underneath the profound, green potatoe skin soaked funk, including a note of old sox with a whiff of wet mushrooms, tied together by dusty, earthy malts. Exhibits an exuberant barrel woodyness, directly blending into the profound malt foundation. Has a higher, bubbly carbonation, providing a soft, mineralic mouthfeel, leading directly to a distinct, funk coated oakiness. Tastes of wet mushrooms, extremely dusty leather and acidic white citrus peel. Its funkiness is omnipresent, defining the beers taste, together with an intense oak infusion, soaking up wet earth, as well as a white grape skin sweetness. Finishes with a soft minerality, sporting tart citrus peel and a musty oak earthiness, together with a sharp white pepper bite. A highly moldy and funky Gueuze, uncompromising and unusual in taste, convincing though, once getting ones palate adjusted. Its fruitiness, basically as all other flavors, has an old, dusty characteristic to it, enhancing the beers oaky appearance throughout.

37,5cl bottle. Hazy orangish amber colour with a thin white head. Barnyard, citrus and tart aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is medium sour with light sweet fruity notes at first and more bitter at finish. Quite balanced. Overall, a very good beer.
