Somewhat cardy and flat, the off notes aren’t so much in the welcome funkiness but a murkiness, not light or spritzy at all. Maybe an old bottle?

Bottle from at Cotteridge Wines; hazy amber pour with a thin beige head, aroma is quite tart fruits with some sour lemon, taste has some sweet action along with some big citrus almost like a pancake on shrove Tuesday drenched with jif and sugar.

375 ml bottle @ Patricks. Can’t really believe I have forgotten to rate this one. Anyway there is always a good excuse to have another bottle of this one. Geuze seems to go pretty well in combination with most food and this time I had it with my Irish stew at Patricks, not a bad match at all. The beer is unclear golden with a huge, stable, white head. The aroma is very nice, with all the elements from a good classic geuze, but a bit mellow and almost extreme balanced, nothing stands really out it just a pleasant combination of sour fruit, mild acid, and funky barnyard. The same goes for the flavor, nothing extreme, nothing disturbing, might even feel a bit lame for the sourheads, but I think it’s really impressive to make this full blooded geuze this smooth and easy to drink. This will make it a perfect match for a lot of different food without any disturbing flavors. A classic, even if I prefer the unfiltered black label version just a tad better.

This year’s vintage. Picked up at Real Ale, shared at Beavertown. Hazy orange, lightly sparkling, clear, small white head, light lacing. Aroma is funky, plastic, worcester sauce. Body is medium, slightly foamy, low carbonation. Taste has lemonade, tart fruits, dry throughout. Really drinkable.

Bottle shared at Beavertown - many thanks to Daniel. Pours clear gold with a foamy white head. The nose has some grassy notes, ripe citrus, melon. Light sweet flavor with some tangy citrus, drying wood, grass, soft funk. Light bodied with average carbonation and massaging carbonation. Good balance in the finish, with further grassy bitterness, citrus, mellow funky twang. Great stuff overall. Very drinkable.
