3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (1686) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 29, 2011
In bottle at de Het Kathedraalcafe, Anterp. Pours a nice red colour with a thin pink head. Very sour aroma of lemon, cherries and almonds. Similar flavours. A little sweet and not overly sour flavour. Mild carbonation with a foamy mouth-feel and a little dry finish. Lingering cherry and almond flavours. OK but I prefer more sourness in a kriek.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Thorpe429 (3542) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - SEP 16, 2011
From the bottle at In De Verzekering Tegen De Grote Dorst during last week’s Belgium trip. Reviewed from notes.
Served in a Girardin fat-bottomed tulip.
Poured a nice bright red with a small pink head and a collar thorughout.
The nose brought some semi-tart cherry and a bit of sweetness. Flavor was tart cherry with some sweetness and mild acidity. Restrained funk there as well.
Light body and dry finish with a bit of acidity.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vignale (783) - Malmö, SWEDEN - AUG 27, 2011
Välbalanserad! Lätt kropp, rejält syrlig, fruktig, jästig och med en lätt fatkaraktär för att avslutas med en lätt körsbärskärnsbeska. Inte så mycket körsbär utan med åt geuzehållet. Mycket god!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Palme (1200) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 18, 2011
0.375l bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen shared with ClubGonzo and the rest of Bergen Tasting Crew. This kriek pours a beautiful red light unfiltered body with a thin filmy and sidesticking pinkish head. Aroma is beautifully light sweet cherries with some woody and mildly sweet vinegar notes. Oily to sticky mouthfeel, medium-bodied and soft carbonation. Good balance, its not to sweet and not to sour. Good cherries and notes of something light tart in the finish. Good but not great.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Prokroustis (361) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - AUG 10, 2011
Dark red body with a pale pink head. Aroma has cherries and a sour and soapy tone. Dusty monotonus flavour of cherries with some acidic tones.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 ClubGonzo (1732) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2011
Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, shared with Palme and friends. Clear deep pink/cherry body, small pink-hued white head. Aroma is very mild, with sweet cherries and apple vinegar. Hints of butterscotch. Taste is sweet cherries again, with some tart acidic hints. This is a fruit lambic which is neither tart nor sweet. Despite its extreme balance, it seems to go nowhere in particular and ultimately ends up as a bit boring, IMO. I like ’em either sweet or sour; this one is neither.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jonte (1184) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - JUL 26, 2011
Bottle. Red colour. Tart cherries, a bit sweet, rather light sourness. Dry and crisp. Some bitterness in the finish. Easy drinking and not very complex.
