Bottle. Hazy reddish with a medium, fluffy head. Very drinkable, cherries, wood, not that sour and complex. Dry with a good aftertaste. Descent beer but not the best Lambic out there.

FlacoAlto (3086) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 27, 2010
Sampled July 2010
The beer pours with a dense, frothy, pink-tinged, tan colored head that sits on top of a clear, rich red hued beer (though it is not dark as some that I have experienced on this trip). The nose produces buttery cherry aromatics, it is not as expressively cherry as some version, but it is dominated by the cherry notes as the beer seems to be lacking in the complexity that authentic Lambics usually have. The cherry character is note complex enough in and of itself to make up for the lack of Lambic funkiness in the nose.

The beer has a nice tartness to it that is a mix of sour cherry notes and lactic acidity. The finish has a cherry skin flavor and tannic quality to it that both coat the palate. The buttery cherry quality continues in the flavor and seems to be more from the cherries themselves than from residual diacetyl (at least I am pretty sure of this). The beer is lightly sweet and doesn’t achieve the dryness of many a Kriek; it does still have some chewy cherry notes to it as well. This is quaffable enough, though it is not as slight perhaps as one would desire in a more refreshing brew.

This is not bad, but certainly a bit disappointing in comparison to many of the other Krieks that I have been drinking on this trip; even the Girardin KriekenLambik is much better and more interesting than this bottled product.

Bottle. Wonderful gingerbread cookie and vanilla aroma. Taste more fruity, with the sourness not too evident. The finish is cherry. Quite a nice one, but I prefer the Boon and Cantillons.

Hazy light amber coloured beer with small pinkish head and medium carbonation. Sweet fruity and sour aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is sweet, sour, fruity and rather dry. This is very good and tastefull. Not too sour but nice balance of different tastes. Top beer.
