COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the big daddy of stouts. The style was originally brewed in England for Catherine II, Empress of all the Russias over 200 years ago. The high alcohol helped the beer make the journey to Russia. Matured in a Ukrainian oak barrel for 2 years rendering an intensely creamy head and mouth feel with huge vanilla, chocolate, coconut, and alcohol. A true comrade during cold winter months in the Arctic.

Draft @ Glacier. Black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, coconut and vanilla. Taste is of semi-sweet chocolate, toffee, more coconut and vanilla oak flavors and light alcohol. Full body with mild carbonation and a lush, velvety, awesomely smooth mouth feel. I really like this beer, the oak adds so much flavor and really is a wonderful addition to an already great beer. Glacier knows how to barrel age some beers, that is for sure.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Chocolate, oak, and rich malt aroma. Rich malt and caramel flavor with light chocolate. Medium-plus bodied. Rich malt and caramel lingers with light berry fruitiness and light oak.

On tap at the Bistro Barrel Aged Fest. Black in color with basically no head, although there is a bit of beige film floating on top. Aroma is roast, chocolate, coffee, oak, and vanilla. Flavor is very nice with lots of chocolate and roasted malt, along with some coffee, oak, vanilla, coconut, and slightly tart dark fruits. Medium body with a fairly smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Overall very good.

Pours almost black with no head. Huge nose vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Same in the flavor with an additional tart influence. Medium full mouthfeel.

Tap at the Bistro BA Fest. Black with a few bubbles. Heavy vanilla/oak aromas. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Flavor is very dark malt with sweetness and arguably a bit sour oak in the end. Very smooth. Great flavor.

On tap at Bistro Barrel Aged Fest. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head and a slightly sour malt aroma. The flavor is initially sweet with chocolate dominating vanilla, but turns slightly sour and oaky at the finish. A tasty brew.
