This is our green giant. If you like hop aroma, flavor, and a clean - crisp - balanced bitterness, you will love this one. Unfiltered and incredibly fruity. Big floral and citrus aromas abound. 51 IBU

On tap at Bottleworks, pours copper with a small white head. Aroma of hops, biscuit and a little ginger (?). Flavour reveals more of that ginger, coriander, biscuit and hops. Quite different and nice.

On tap: Boston’s Pizza, Fairbanks. Golden yellow pour with off white head. Piney hop aroma with citrus notes. Hoppy pine and citrus in the flavor. Served very cold and a mild stale refrigerator aftertaste. But real good overall.

On cask at the brewery. Pours a hazy amber color with a frothy off-white head. Loaded with citrus and hops in the aroma. Tastes of each with and added note of pepper. Solid.

Tap @ Glacier. Hazy golden/light amber with a small white head. Big citrus, floral hop aroma, light pine. Flavor is smooth hop bitterness with a very light malt presence. Medium to light body with average carbonation and a long dry finish. Excellent IPA, not sweet at all, the malt is there just to hold up the amble hop bitterness. Lots of flavor and aroma hops. Go get a growler of this stuff.

(tap) clear yellow colour; small fine head; floral and hoppy aroma; taste is citrus (mostly grapefruit) ; creamy; long medium bitter finish. The cask version of the above is very similar, slightly milder.

Draft at brewpub. Hazy golden with foamy white head. Biscuit, orange, grapefuit, honey, with a nice amount of pilth. Ice tea malt, saltine cracker, sticky resinous citra hop. Light body and feel with balanced flavor...the nose is more inspirng than the flavor. Way better that the iipa.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Pure golden, fairly clear, moderate white foamy head, spastic lacing, mild carbonation.   Soft sweet citrusy, piney and hop nose.   Underlying malts are even softer.   Good nose.   Flavor is much the same, a little less sweet than the nose suggests.   More hop bite.   Decent malt background.   Not a big IPA, but clean with a good hop bite and adequate sweetness.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Could be a bit bublier on the tongue.   Feels a little flat.   Otherwise very easy to drink.   Almost more like a Pale Ale.

Enjoyed from cask Aug. 2008 (old notes). Pale amber, some haze, with generous white head. Nose and palate I found some dry peach pit, some grapefruit, and was very drinkable for an IPA on cask. Nothing spectacular in terms of flavor profile or nose, just a light accompaniment to my entree.

Draft at Brouwer’s. Wow, what an awesome little surprise this was tonight. Didn’t even know they were pouring it, and it’s a delectable little Simcoe bomb ready to ambush the unwary. Pours crystal clear coppery medium amber with a thinnish, off-white, creamy head. Huge floral bouquet of mango, tangerine, and pineapple. Just a tropical fruit conflagration. Creamy medium body, well-placed carb for body but not for fizz or effect or anything like that. Clean and refreshing. A little bit of graham crackery malt under the wash of tropical fruits, but this one is really about the fruits. They tail off into a nice gooey, rind-y bitterness near the end. Maybe a tad overly sweet in spots, but, otherwise, this is a buy-by-the-keg IPA to serve at BBQs or that second house you might’ve bought if you hadn’t spent all your damn money on fancy beer.
