6/08/2009: Glacier Brew House Oak Aged Nut Brown is aged 6 months in used Cabernet barrels from Honig Winery. It has a pretty brown color with a thing beige crown. The sweet, malty aroma what definite notes of creamy, full-bodied red wine. The flavor is woody and oaky, sweet and malty, slightly roasty and nutty (in the middle), and has a creamy tanin and chocholate finish. This beer is uite complex with a good alcohol presence. To be honest, the menu deScription of this beer is quite accurate, "Sweet, nutty, malty, vanilla and chocolate flavors abound." This beer has medium to medium-full body and is smooth and creamy. This is a both a great brown ale and a great barrel-aged beer.
