Sampled in Seward. A really really tasty beverage. Pours dark dark black with a think lacey brown head. This beer drinks really smooth with a traditional dark stout bite at the end. Overall a really well made and tasty stout.

On tap at the Brewhouse. Very dark beer with a foamy beige head and a nose of chocolate and roasted grains. Very chocolatey malt sweetness with some vanilla, oak and red wine tannins in the finish. Very nice beer from a very nice little place. Quite delicious.

Nitro tap enjoyed at the brewery itself. Pours a luxurious black color with a nice head that retained quite well. Overall there was a lot of sweetness up front with a smooth, medium body, relatively low carbonation (nitro perhaps) and a cool milk chocolatey finish as well as aftertaste. One of my favorite beers from Glacier Brewhouse.

[1663-20080906] Tap. Chocolate roasted malt aroma. Clear, dark brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Smoothly roasted chocolate mocha malt flavour with a lingering sweetness. Full body has mild bitterness. Wonderful.

Draft at the pub. Black with creamy bubbles. Nose of coffee, caramel, cocoa. Flavors of mocha, graham cracker, and vanilla. A slightly ashy finish balances the lot nicely. Smooth, soft medium body is lightly watery and very sessionable.

2008-09-06. Black body with a modest tan/brown head. (4+) Flavour has sweet malty base with roasty bitterness that escalates in the finish where a pleasant roast mingles with just a kiss of anise undertones, and hints of alcohol. (7+) Aroma of mocha roast is rather nice. (7+) Average plus palate is smooth. (3+) On tap at the brewpub.

Dark, almost black ruby with great head and lacing. Rich malty aroma. Lots of chocolate in the flavor and the oatmeal is noticeable. Almost tastes barrel aged, but this one isn’t. Very good. Earlier Rating: 8/6/2002 Total Score: 4.8 This was an amazing beer from an impressive brewpub. I saved this for my last beer of the meal to go with my apple tart. Pitch black with a good head. The first thing that hits the nose is hazlenut cappuccino, wood and bourbon. The flavor starts off with more cappuccino with a hint of vanilla, wood and bourbon. Actually the bourbon is more than a hint. It meshed amazingly well with the dessert. The richness of the beer makes it best in small amounts, but the half-pint I ordered was just about perfect. One of the best beers I’ve ever had.

On tap @ the brewery and on nitro. Pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted grains and a light hop scent. Sweet malty flavor with a fair amount of hop bitterness to balance it out. Medium to full bodied, with a smooth creamy mouth feel due to the nitro. Great fresh beer that I would get again and again.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Aubrey (3347) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUL 7, 2004
Classic appearance: dark black with a light tan head. Very smooth and fluffy mouthfeel ... nitro had a lot to do with that, of course. Very nicely roasted and toasted, though I wondered how much more it would be without the aroma-robbing nitrogen. Milky sweetness with a subtle sourness undertone. Slightest hint of baker’s chocolate as well. Balancing bitterness. Rather tasty stout.
