COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewhouse Porter boasts a plethora of chocolate and roast flavors. With medium body, low bitterness, and smooth mouth feel, this black beauty is sure to please.

Draft pint at the brewpub. Dark, dark brown. The thin tan head slides down the side with reluctance. The aroma is restrained -- bit of dark chocolate, mostly. It drinks incredibly sweet and chocolatey, with a bit of a creaminess as well as maybe just a hint of pleasantly sweet smokiness. (#3295, 1/17/2008)

On tap @ Glacier. Reddish brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, some roasted malt and caramel. Flavor is bitter chocolate mostly with some roasted coffee and burnt sugar. Medium body with average carbonation and a dry mouth feel. This porter is very dry and has lots of bitter chocolate and coffee characters. Not my favorite porter but still nice.

(Draft: Glacier Brewhouse in Anchorage, AK) This is the basic porter, not the Beam Porter, which supposedly is pretty good; Moderate dark roasted maltiness is somewhat bitter and minimally sweet with a slight yeasty flavor; Medium to full bodied and dry on the palate, with a pretty substantial mouthfeel; Mild dark roasted nose is pretty subdued for a porter; The color is black and opaque, but dark brown at the edges; Light brown head has good size on the pour, contains many large bubbles and slowly fades to a thick rim; Some patchy lacing here and there; Overall, it’s an okay beer and the best of the 6 Glacier Brewhouse beers I’ve had, but so far, that’s not saying much
