Pours black with a massive frothy brown head (almost too much head in fact.....) that leaves a lot of lacing. Decent aromas and flavors of light peat, roasted nuts, molasses and chocolate. Body is too thin. Finishes slightly bitter. Pretty good stout.

Cask at Cambridge Blue, Cambridge on 22 November 2013. Poured black with a small, rocky tan head. Mild aroma with some dark fruit and burnt malt. Mouth feel was a bit disappointingly watery. Sweet flavours initially; apple pie, caramel and molasses. Finish balanced it with some roasted malt, cereal and burnt sugar.

My Bottom Line:
This soft and dry Stout matches light mokaccino to hints of berries and mint for an easy drinking experience.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the ruby-hued darkness.
-Mild molasses and roast take control of the finish.
-Mouthfeel is svelte, which makes this Stout very easy on the palate.
-The berry character is jam-like.

Cask @ CBC Islington. Split with Scopey from Ratebeer. The pour’s deep brown with no head whatsoever. The nose is sweet roasted nuts, some chocolate cake, a bit of vinous red grape and berry. The taste is much the same. Decent sweet chocolate syrup profile. Nice chewy malt sweetness. Earthy nut. Playful fruit finish. Smooth, drinkable stuff. Very approachable, simple. Pretty solid.

Cask at Craft Beer Co Islington. It pours near black, with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, smoke, toast and coffee. The taste is soft roast, dark fruit, toast, ash, plastic, some astringency and coffee grinds with a very dry finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Ok.
