3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Magnum to snifter (shared with jmborggren, the Mrs., and others). Looks good for the style; a cloudy dark orange with fluffy head somewhere between off-white and light beige. Lively carbonation as well. Smells of Belgian yeast and sweet dark fruit malt. Tastes like it smells, only more robust, with a nice, lively mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled @ RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting afterparty trainride. Cloudy brownish color, big off-white head. Aroma of some soft chocolat and caramel, slight spicy. Bit sweet in taste, bit chocolat. Way too much carbonation, ruins the palate. I’m used to better stuff from de Glazen Toren.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
75cl x 2 bottles. 8,3 %. Label helps to classify this as "Dobbel spéciale belge" and that would cover exactly what it is: double EU hop profile, pepper and grass, and double the amount of candy sugar, which can only partly be blamed to the female brewers. Fresh hop character nearly outbalanced by substantial amounts of raisin-like brown sugar, kept in check by wooden dryness. palate is less sticky than the traditional macro Dobbel Palm, yet I would enjoy this even more with 50% less sugar and maybe 1,5-2% less ABV.
