2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
From the March 2014 Pittsburgh Ratebeer gathering. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-brown color with an enormous fluffy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was bread, dark fruits and dust. The flavor was tart and bitter with notes of pepper, bread, a touch of astringency and perfume. Long tart pepper and perfume finish. Medium body. Meh.

This one poured an amber color with an off white head. Aroma was of caramel, light rustic notes, and cgrassy hops. Flavor was similar, very smooth type of beer, but nothing wrong with it.

Not bad. Pours orangy brown with decent head and lacing. Some florals and a little barrel here. Finishes with light sweetness. Good balance but light overall palate. Tap at Churchkey.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 0.75l. Pours hazy amber brown with a solid off white head. Aroma is earthy, dried fruit, raisins. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, slightly sour, wood, dried fruit, molasses. Aftertaste is quite sweet but balanced. Alcohol is well hidden, carbonation is soft. Less sugar and alcohol would make this beer even better. Still very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A extremely pleasant brew overall. Pours a dark murky brown with a huge tan head that fills the whole glass. The nose is bright and fruity with hints of raisin, plum and cherries. Big toffee and molasses malt notes with bread and dessert like malt sweetness. Fruity mid palate with a raisin note and a smidge of spice. The finish is warm and heavy with toffee and caramel sweet notes. overall a great brew.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to goblet. Hazy mahoganybody with a thick, off white head. Nose doesn’t have any real strong aromas. Just a bit earthy and nutty. Taste though is really funky with a nutty body with a funky barnyard finish. Dry hay finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of sweet honey malts, white wine and tart grapes. Appears a smokey, ruby red color. Taste is sharp honey and a sweet white wine note with a slight port characteristic. Fruity overtones and pretty watery. Not very enjoyable.
