75cl bottle shared with Gitte. Heavy gusher. cloudy brown, huge fluffy light brownish head. aroma of oranges, citrus, fruits, mild yeasty notes, aroma hints a sourish infection, but I’ll know when I taste it. Flavor is caramelly, malty, fruity, fruit peel, oranges, sourish, slightly citrussy and fruity. pretty weird wild thing. can’t determine if it is infected or just plain weird. Taste is very belgian.

Large bottle. Starts to push out as is opened. Pours a dirty, hazy amber with a fairly large, ugly, broken dark beige head. Aroma is berries, caramel, ripe fruits, yeast, apricot. Taste is dark ripe fruits, quite dry, light berries, dries up on finish. Complex. Could be fuller.

Bottle (750 ml). Split 2-ways.

Appearance: Hazy dark amber with a medium off-white head, low retention and little lacing.

Aroma: Toffee forward with strong earthy notes, moderate spiciness, Belgian yeast and light to moderate fruitiness.

Taste: Medium sweetness with toffee, brown sugar, earthy presence, moderate spiciness, moderate fruitiness and light bitterness.

Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel. Toffee finish with light warmth from the spices and the alcohol. Sticky toffee.

Overall: Tasty Belgian Strong Ale with a decent balance despite the sweetness. It packs a lot of flavors. Ok drinkability.

Glazen Toren strong ale since 2008, with off-white head and deep copper colour with brownish hue. Aroma’s of pear, cherries, lots of caramel, honey, herbal hops. Starts off sweetish, then more caramelly, finishing in a leafy, mild hop bitterness. Well done.
