Ondineke is a classic tripel, brewed in the ancient way, again with exclusive natural ingredients: artesian water, malt (barley), hops, yeast and liquid candy sugar. As in the Saison no spices are added. Ondineke is an unfiltered top fermenting beer. It is soft, creamy, and of golden color. It is double hopped with the last real hops available from the region of Aalst (The variety is Hallertau Mittelfrüh). Ondineke has a positive taste evolution and the bottles are best kept standing in a cool, dark place. It is best before two years after the bottling date. 8.5 % alc.vol. makes this a beer to be savoured. Preferably Ondineke is to be served at a temperature between 6 to 10° C. Moreover Ondineke is at its best when served in the originally designed Glazen Toren glass.

750ml bottle shared with Steve,Even though this was poured quite cold to say that it was lively would be like saying that the Titanic is a little damp!Gusher it was.Citrus, lemon and hops immediately filled the room, surrounding area, house and complimented the appearance of a hazy golden beer with a huge white head.Lemon featured in the taste too with other citrus notes and apple along with floral and herb flavours too.Crisp, well balanced, refreshing and tasty if a tad lively beer.

Bottle - 750ml. Beautiful pale gold body with a thin white creamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy, honeyish, flowery, and yeasty hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty, coriander, and herbal notes. Ends with a decent, moderately warming, bitter/herbal finish. Very enjoyable Tripel.

75cl bottle. Completely hazy orange/yellow liquid. Medium white head. Nose : Candy, straw, fruity, citrus zest and little soap. Sip : Low density liquid with oily and creamy texture. The beer is sweet with fruity and soapy aromas. The ending gets more hoppy with some esters and some bitter zest. A bit soapy. Overall it’s a nice tripel , it does remind a lot the saison d’erpe mere but with more bite and esters. It still hides well the alcohol and is easy to drink. One of the most drinkable tripel beers I tasted yet.

750 ml bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours cloudy golden orange color with a fairly dense 1-2 finger white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Some decent spotty lacing clings to the glass, with a fair amount of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of pear, lemon, apricot, honey, grape, caramel, herbal, floral, earth, and light spiciness. Fairly nice and balanced aromas with good strength. Taste of pear, apricot, grape, lemon, herbal, honey, earth, pepper, and light yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of grape, apple, pear, herbal, honey, caramel, earth, and light yeast spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice malty flavor balance; with minimal cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly slick and creamy mouthfeel. Overall this is a very nice tripel. Nice flavor balance and complexity; and very smooth and easy to sip on. I would imagine that his was an older bottle though, and would like to try a younger vintage. Quite enjoyable.

750ml bottle pours a light golden color with a 2 finger white head that settles slowly and leaves a thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild fruits and hops with a slight hint of yeast. Taste is light fruity and grainy malt sweetness with some mild citrusy hops in the finish. Medium bodied and nicely carbonated leaving a nice feeling on the tastebuds. A well crafted tripel that is just a basic tripel and quite satisfying.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2014 Nice medium-bodied and creamy, yet dry "saison"ized tripel - quite traditional otherwise really. Found all floral/hoppy notes secondary to its all-pervasive tripleness. Luckily no caramel malts, tastes very healhy/bio/artisanal, a Leffe-style golden BE ale with a yeast soul.

Golden color with creamy head which disappears quickly. Aroma of hop, floral, citrus. Sweet taste with light bitterness. Actually quit heavy for its smell, but a typical triple. Aftertaste could be better. Comes in nice paper wrapped bottle. Also nice as a gift.

Poured into goblet. Hazy dark yellow almost orangish color with a minuscule head. Smells slightly sour with hints of grass and pear. Floral flavors with light grassiness and a sour fruitiness. Not overly complex. Very carbonated with a sour dry finish. Westmalle Tripel is preferred, but this really isn't my style of beer. --- Cheers
