@Basunen: frisk och fin. Belgisk smak av krydda, jäst och citrus. Lite vitvinstoner tycks också hittas. Läskande. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours tiny hazy golden with a big frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some trace on the glass. Smell is slightly spicy and slightly phenolic with crackers, white bread, pears, hay, dry soil, pepper corns and hints of lemon juice and alcohol. Taste is tiny sour, tiny bitter, slightly spicy and slightly phenolic with white bread, pepper corns, dry soil, leather, pear skins, granny smith apples, hay, lemon zest, orange zest, cloves, fresh ginger, dried pine needles and hints of tummy warming alcohol. Mouthfeel is dry, tiny tart, slightly spicy astringent, tiny boozy and medium bodied. Finish is tiny bitter and phenolic with white bread, pepper corns, dried ginger, dry soil, hay, apple skins, pear skins, orange zest, dried pine needles and alcohol. The high alcohol content impairs the refreshing nature of the beer making it work against itself. Quite good still tough...

(backlog ZBF 04/2013 - moved rating from previously entered Eindejaar to Lentebier.) 75cl bottle, poured and sold in pretty spring-yellow wrapper as "Lentebier" saison at the same 9%. sweeter esters bringing fruitier compote notes to the fore than usual in a saison, while still keeping some dryness, astringent aftertaste. As balanced, spectacularly modest acquired taste a standout beer, albeit with odd ABV for a spring beer, at ZBF for me. //new 2014 bottles from source and won @ZBF tombola: still very smoothly drinkable and dry for a yeastier 9% saison, with an ideal white asparagus pairing recommendation. Peach-swollen pollens, apple, fuller mf. Note to mod: this is commonly knosn and distributed as Glazen Toren Lentebier, now without the Saison d’Erpe-Mere add.

@Ölprovning på Havregatan. Flaska från Systembolaget. Arom: Jästig, fruktig, frisk. Smak: Fruktig, lite spritig, hyfsat frisk. Avslutningen är torr och en aning alkolvärmande.

@ Ölprovning på Havregatan. Flaska (750ml) från Systembolaget (80:-). Trevlig doft, men lite spritig i smaken. Fruktig och jästig, kryddiga toner, citrus, frisk och fräsch. Avslutningen är torr och något besk, fruktig och jästig.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2014 750ml brown bottle wrapped in paper with artwork of a meadow, poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is cloudy orange with a large frothy off-white head, that when reduced left no lacing. Aroma of orange peels, herbs, lemon zest and banana. Flavours of orange peels, lemon zest, herbs, spices, banana and a hint of alcohol. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied, soft texture and lively carbonation. Overall a great Saison in the upper end of the ABV scale for the style. The alcohol is slightly noticeable in the flavour and it’s not quite as crisp as I would have liked it, but overall it is a great beer.
