Hand pulled at Out of the Vaults, Leicester (during RB Leicester crawl). Chris says it better than I could (below). Golden, with a small soapy head. Dry hop aroma, with a conversely (almost) watery hop flavour. Clean, medium strength, some dryness. An easy drinking, reasonable Golden.

Cask, Out of the Vaults Leicester Crawl Jan 2005. Straw gold, thin white head and moderate condition. Low sweet fruity hop aromas, pleasant hop flavour and delicate graininess in the mouth and lingering hop notes in the finish.

Another golden ale from Glentworth. From the name, I presume it’s a winter beer, but whether it’s a one-off, or a regular seasonal is not clear. It’s a bit hard to tell with this lot. It has a grassy, slightly spicy, aroma, rather white wine like (maybe Riesling) but there’s cats pee and gooseberry leaf too (more like Sauvignon). The aroma is quite insistent, but not too refined. By contract, the flavours are quite faint and the mouthfeel is soft, tending towards dull. Not much zip. Fair to middling. Cask (handpump), Out of the Vaults, Leicester (RB Leicester pub crawl).
