Half at 5 bells Kent. Dark deep red. White foam head. Some coffee, wood and burnt notes. Light body for a stout. Smoky on palate with a tinge of bitterness. Bit of a watery finish which let’s it down. Okay

Ethereal (2417) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Cask at Battersea Beer Festival, 9th Feb 2011. Very dark brown with a small bubbly tan head. Rich, roasted coffee and chocolate nose. Burnt notes at the back of the throat give it a persistent aftertaste. Smooth but the burnt toast flavours would put me off having another.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Opaque dark brown beer, no real head. Smooth low carbonation palate. A little roasty malt with bitter licorice. A smooth but pretty grapefruit bitter finish. Ok but a few too many rough edges.

Hand pulled cask at the Black Lion, Lynsted. Black with a creamy tan head. Although far from imperial, this is a class stout, with chocolate roasty notes, hoppy finish and a little sourness. complex and moreish.
