A Mes rate: gravicask at Ealing Beer Festival.
Dark, almost clean red brown with a decent off white head. Light and fruity aroma with some really good faint nutty notes and plenty of earth. Awesome flavour. Dry and toasty, just the right amount of fruit, coffee and chocolate. Gorgeous. Loads of character, very drinkable, superb mild.

On gravity at Reading Beer Festival, 01/05/09. Deep, dark brown with no head. Chocolate and roasted malts aroma. Flavour of milk chocolate, red fruits and a touch of coffee in the finish. A very easy drinking mild.

Cask @ London Drinker 25: Dark, dark brown with a swirly film that created lovely patterns across the top of the beer. Hefty chocolate and smoked aromas with underlying weetabix style grains. Light smoke and creamy cappuchino flavours finsihed with a very bitter cringe in the mouth. I just found this WAY TOO THIN. It was good to an extent with some nice flavours. The texture was far too much to ignore though I am afraid.

Handpulled cask at the Black Lion in Lynsted, Lent. Very dark brown wth off white head. Malt accent with hint of smokiness. A very sessionable breww and a fine example of it’s style.

Cask, 3.4% at GBBF08. Good roasted flavour, a bit thin mouthfeel, but to be expected from ABV. Still quite flavourful. Clear dark brown colour. Small stable frothy white head.

Gravity cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 8th Feb 2008. Yet another cracking mild at the BBF. Ruby, dark chestnut colour. Aroma of oats, coffee and rich malt. Flavour is similar, but with herbal notes too. Good stuff.

half @ 18th camra battersea. Nice deep oaty nose, and dark red in colour. Tasted almost like porridge, in a good way, but was overly lively and had a very short finish.

Cask (Peterborough Beer Festival 2004) Rich brown, thin head. Toast, and roasted malts in the aroma. In the mouth it’s very malty, but with no real bitterness either from hops or burnt malts. Good for 3.4%.

Cask, gravity at Cambridge BF ’07. Dark brown. Grainy malt aroma and taste. Unexpectedly bitter. Not outstanding; this somehow just didn’t do the job.
