2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 hughie (3993) - Bedford, - OCT 19, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2011 Cask at The Bear, Oxford, during my abortive attempt to follow the footsteps of the legendary Ratebeer Oxford Crawl of February, 2008. I didn’t get any further than this pub, Oxford’s oldest, which is a reflection on my sense of direction, rather than any criticism of this beer. Gold, faint citrus hop aroma. Nice grassy taste with a little soap. Slight bitterness. Decentish golden. 5.8.11 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. The ABV is now 3.7%. Cereal malt taste with sweetness and citric notes. Mid bitter. Quite good. Rating: 5,3,7,3,13:3.1
