KimJohansen (3026), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 9, 2008 Clear golden with medium whi head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel and floral notes. Sweet fruity flavor with caramel and dry hops. Fin (2164), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jun 8, 2008 Bottle picked up at the Naked Grape, Alresford, Hampshire 07-06-08 Amber coloured with medium sized white head, good claritiy. This is quite an aromatic beer, perfumey hops dominate almost aggresively so but this never detracts, this transfers into the flavour as well with some nice sweetness and citrus in reserve making quite a bittersweet symphony, a good beer with plenty of verve harrisoni (5106), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 14, 2008 500ml bottle. Thanks to AndrewC for this one. Gold with thin beige head. Some hop on aroma, but quite poor in the mouth. Malt seems quite biscuity. Odd chemical aroma that goes into the mouth. Weird acidity too which lasts on the finish. Not great. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Mar 29, 2006 Updated: Oct 13, 2006Oct 06 Cask conditioned @ Guide Dog, Soton. Noticeable alcohol and growing malt sweetness are not hidden but the large dosing of hops. Not up to the standard of the bottle I’ve tried and not in line with the high quality of other Goddards beers I’ve sampled. 2.7
Mar 06 Filtered bottle (from Bitter Virtue). Almost floral hop aromas settling down into earthy fruity notes. Dryish malt flavours with a hint of sweetness somehow didnt seem right for the first few gulps. After this it seemed to complement the growing hoppy bitterness excellently. 3.7 johndoughty (1580), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Sep 29, 2004 Lovely bitterness that doesn’t overpower. This bitterness lingers for a long time making for an above average beer.
