The old Goebel was much, much better, but this generic standard is too horrible (it isn't too anything!). All in all, I'd much rather have a Burger Classic.

I HAD A FEW OF THESE ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO AND I REMEMBER IT NOT BEING TOO TERRIBLE. IT WAS KIND OF FUN TO RIDICULE THE GUY WHO BROUGHT THEM OVER. I WILL SAY THIS ABOUT GOEBEL, IT WASN'T AS BAD AS BUD OR COORS THOUGH. I WOULD DRINK IT IF WERE THE ONLY BEER AROUND.

Goebel, the name kind of says it all. Tastes just like every other working mans beer. Not as good as PBR though.

Average & generic in every way possible. Nothing distinctive. I remember some people actually thought this was somethign special. Um, no.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2004 Dear Mr. Beer Baron, Quit wrecking all the old beers with imitations of their old selves. Goebel could now be any number of beers...mil. best, bud, who can tell it’s now all the same recipe.

I really wanted to like this beer, at first taste it wasn’t bad. Then the aftertaste came around, it was strong but I could probably stand it. Probably better when it was in it’s prime, but since may brewery shuffles it has lost something.

Sigh. I’ll bet this beer tasted better during my fathers generation. The beer barons of today should be rounded up & executed. This is swill.
