Hand pulled, probably at the Wellington, Birmingham. Chestnut. Dusty, with rooty dry background. Slight paper, whiskey and apple. OK.

Deep red, small spongy head. Caramelly aroma. Simple sweet caramelly taste. Light roastiness. Gentle hops. OK, but not so exciting. Finish is a touch barky. Traditional dark bitter, sould session, I’m sure.

Cask real ale 0.25L. Pale beige head. Dark coppery colour. Soft coffeyish slightly sour taste. Lasting head (8mm). Mild roastiness. At the end hoppy bite. Fullfilled taste. At teh end average hoppiness.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel Northampton A chestnut coloured beer with an off white coloured head. The aroma is bread and nutty with woody notes. Same in the mouth with some hints of coffee, and fruit. A malty very tasty beer.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark amber. Malty aroma, but Im suffering from a cold right now. Taste is rough and earthy with only a little sweetness and a sharp bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 13/11/08. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Sweet fruity aroma. Flavour had plenty of sweet malts, with a short bitter finish. Ok.
