imdownthepub (3963), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England Aug 30, 2004 Cask Conditioned at The Rising Sun, Bream, Gloucs. Golden amber with faint head. This was badged for the pub, but investigation lead me to this beer. It was in a tired state, some tea like dry hoppiness and a tarty maltiness. Finishes off with a gooseberry flavour. Not a great beer. haddonsman (1162), Derby, Derbyshire, England Jul 25, 2004 Gravity at Olde Dolphin Inn Beer Festival, Derby. Deep yellow body, sweet and malty aroma, bit of wet wood in there, coats the mouth with a sweet finish. Hildigöltur (5051), København Ø, Denmark Nov 19, 2003 [Cask conditioned] Nice bítter with surprisingly much aroma and flavour. Rather hoppy and bitter with funny and tasty meat notes. Nuffield (2532), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jul 24, 2003 Only a trace ring of head on a somewhat soupy, deep copper body. Little hop balance, mostly a hop charge. Meaty flavors like ham, lingering unpleasant bitterness. Not exactly a limp palate, but uncomfortably plain with the diluted flavors magnifying the effect. Obviously, I am not too thilled with this beer. (on tap, Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford)
