Cask Conditioned @ The Royal Standard, Wooburn Common, Bucks. Golden/copper coured with no head and good condition. Aroma is floral, hoppy. Flavour is floral and very hoppy (piney/resiny) with some odd sour/soapyness. Quite nice but not outstanding attempt at a heavily hopped bitter.

First tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow in March 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale amber in colour with a tight creamy white head. Warm yeasty bread notes in the short aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a strong digestive biscuit note with slight hints of toffee apple in the mouth. Spicy herbal notes in the hop resins gives a tart woody aftertaste. Finish is slightly malty with hazelnut overtones. An ok session bitter but a bit bland.

Cask, Derby Fest 10. Amber brown with an off-white foam. Aromas are malty with ripe pear and citrus. Toffee with green apple. Flavours are toffee and weetabix malts with pear. Grapefruit with light chocolate on the finish. A decent bitter but at least it’s not another bloody golden ale.

Hand pulled at Penny Blacks,Birmingham. Light brown, with scum top. Nice jammy hops in the mouth. Not too strong, not too overbearing, just lip-smacking and slightly orangey. Nice finish.

Cask at the Crosse Keys. Session bitter that starts out quite balanced with the proper malty body and enough hops. But there is some refined sugar in the finish that does not come out well.
