I bought this bottle from the brewery. It had a frothy white head when poured into a chilled mug, but it doesn’t last long. It was medium gold and mildly carbonated. It’s not quite as sweet as Gold Crown’s 5.3-per-cent alcohol Premium Lager and has some decent maltiness. This preservative-free lager is drinkable and easy-finishing, but there’s nothing special about it.

Decent, a little better than most lagers available. A little more flavorful, a little more body to it

Bottle, pours a nice pale colour, the taste is pretty smooth and it has a good solid body, it is really quite nice

UPDATE: I felt it time to re re-rate this boilerplate all malt lager as I have been sipping happily away on it for the past two years. There are three things that have to be stated about this brew which most reviews miss. (A) the lager is in the Dortmunder Helles style, the lemony-bready snap at the end is the give away. That makes it to my knowledge the only example of this style in the Ontario market (B) The brightness of the malt flavor is because this beer is always fresh...bottled every Friday. (C) It’s an all gristed malt beer... For the price this is a far better a lager than any of the weak mouthed extract beers coming from Brick these days. Poured a clear amber-gold with a 1 finger white cap which does not last too long...modest lace. Very subtle aroma....just a light musty malty sweetness, some cider tones, hop grassiness and some lager yeast sulphiides. Medium-light bodied.... moderate malt spine. firm mouthfeel. Grainy/bready up front then this is balanced by a peppery-citrusy-herbal discernment from the hops and bit of cidery tartness from lager yeast sulphides. Finish is clean with light lemony bittering and a decent biscuity snap A good enough standard all malt helles lager...drinkable....clean and grainy but nothing over the top to distinguish it.

Bottle from the brewery. Light gold with a small white head. Aroma is malt-forward, a bit bready, with some fruit/citrus hints and a bit of straw. Crisp body. Flavour is fine, quite sweet and malty up front, with mild lemony hops in the not-too-short, not-too-long finish. As most of noted, this is a clean and agreeable pale lager - nothing exciting, but it does the job.

[2594-20091118] 341mL bottle. Mild yeast grains aroma. Slightly hazy, yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Straw yeast flavour has generic fruit. Light-medium body. Fair.

Bottle (341ml) courtesy of tupalev. Beer #4 of "Crappy to mediocre beer rating night". Probably not the best idea to follow a Pale Lager with a Pale Lager. Oh well. Pours a clear pale gold with an average size frothy white head. Aroma of grain and corn, of course, along with some sugar, bread and light hops. Flavour of grain, some sugar, sweet malt, light grassy hops and a corny, slightly unpleasant finish. Average bodied. Not the worst, it’s actually O.K. for a Pale Lager, but it’s not something I’d drink again.

341ml bottle from the brewery. Medium yellow, small white head. Grainy aroma with hints of citrus. Good taste - fresh crisp malt (lots of malt for the style) and some subtle citrus hops in the background. Quite dent actually. I’ll take the on tap version (if it is the same beer or not) but this is just fine and well worth it for the low price.

341 ml bottle from the brewery. Meh, its a pale lager. Not a bad beer but I see no reason to go back and buy it again.

Drank from bottle. Fruity aroma - banana, pear, and "sour Shreddies." Flavour is quite grainy. Some citrus and banana hits the tongue as well. Medium bodied (avoids being watery). Leaves little aftertaste and the mouth feeling clean.
