3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bhensonb (7589) - Woodland, USA - NOV 26, 2009
Bottle from my nephew in law who got it from an owner I think he said. Bomber has stick on plastic label, which is ok, but says "33 FL. OZ." No bar code, so I don’t think it’s usually available off brewery premises. Pours dark amber with a clingy, frothy off-white head - three fingers. Aroma is light roast malt with light grassy/floral notes. Medium body with rather creamy carbonation. Flavor is more malty than not, so it finishes rather sweet. It is a high quality item, just more malty than I’d prefer. There’s very light astringency, but that’s not substituting for bitterness.

Bomber, picked up today at the winery - brewery. Poured new penny copper, on the cloudy side, with a nice off white head. Mild citrus and floral nose, medium bodied with a smooth taste that was on the sweeter side. Nice overall pale ale, heavier than most. This place is a real find if you are in the area.

Draft @ Gold Hill Brewery. Pours a bright, golden-orange color; fine-bubbled white head. Crystalline sugar along with some zesty earthy and citrus hops; nicely balanced, maybe a touch dry. Medium body; medium to medium-high CO2; lively presence in the mouth. Vibrant, juicy citrus and earthy/floral hop complexity here; just a touch of underlying crystal malt; damn tasty. Medium-lengthy finish: toasty, lingering citrus and earthy hops; nicely dry.
