Bottle at Cafe 8. Gold medal? Wow I wonder what the silver medal was like then... This a pretty mediocre cloying sweet and grainy brew, cardboard is there too. If you really have to tick it, then drink it fresh and fast paired with red hot spicy dishes.

Cannette 50cl de et partagée avec Tderoeck. Canned 27.01.16, BB 26.07.16 Dorée claire, col fin blanc.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s as ’Taiwan Beer Gold Medal’, 5%, BB Nov 2016. Brewed in Taipei and picked up in London. Dark yellow, clear, lightly sparkling, small foamy white head. Aroma is corny, light metallic, something almost like chili pepper. Body is light, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is thin cracker malt, corn, watery finish. Pretty poor.

12 oz can from Seven Eleven in Sunworld Dynasty Hotel, Taipei. Pale golden yellow, reasonable head. Cereal corn aroma. Corn malt flavour. Quite smooth for a lager. Not a bad example of the style.

Bottle shared at Leightons place 21/03/2016. Thanks to Daniel. Clear pale yellow coloured pour with a loose fine white head. Aroma is skunky, hop, sweet cooked corn, little apple. Flavour is composed of weak, little corn, green apple, carbonic acid bite. Palate is light highish carbonation, very light bodied. Meh.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Daniel. Pours perfectly clear pale yellow with a creamy, white head. The nose holds cabbage, pale grains, white bread. Medium sweet flavor, sugary, with lots of grain, white sugar, light chemical notes. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sugary finish, with some bread, paper, cabbage, grains, sugar. Not great.

Bottle at Bespin thanks to DD, 21/03/16. Pale yellow with a moderate off White cap that quickly vanishes. Nose is grain, paper, light fart, straw. Taste comprises much the same, pale malt, cereals, grain, faint lemon. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, semi drying close. Not great.

A lot of hate for this beer in the ratings below. I couldn’t go as far as to hate it, especially with the wonderful surrounds which is all of Taiwan. A true lawnmower beer to be quaffed alongside some deep fried chicken or Taiwan’s version of a hotdog. Bright gold with a dense cap of white. Aroma of lemon curd, dank haybales, leafy hops and cereal grains. Bready and sweet on the palate with a leafy finish. Quite fizzy so it always needed a good swirl to flatten. Crisp finish that is clean and dry. Medial bitterness that hits then disappears. It drinks easy aside the carbonic acid. Would I drink it back in Oz, No? In Taiwan, yeah, why not, cheap and a quaffer for the great food available.

Delt 0,33 l boks på RBHD-treff på Tau, mars 2016. Skaffet av Lene. Klar gyllen kropp med hvitt lavt skum. Litt smøraktig våt papp i nesa. Våt papp og svakt sødme i smaken. Tynn og vassen.
