Canned at RBESG Pale yellow, ultrabrief airy head. Cardboardy nose. Sweet and syrupy with light body. Extreme percentage of adjuncts must’ve been used to make it this thin, fruity and syrupy. No bitterness.

12 oz bottle from Half Time. Clear light gold pour, no head. Aroma and taste of grain, honey, and light fruit. Carbonation noticeable. Not very good.

bhensonb (7589) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Bottle from Half Time. Pours light gold with a slight, creamy white head. Aroma is grainy/bready with some light grassy hop. Near medium body. Flavor is mildly bready, very slightly grapey, and there’s a decent amount of grassy bitter. Finishes on the dry side.

altonbrownd (3611) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 15, 2012
Bottle from Half Time. Yellowish body with huge head. Nose is quite skunky and herbal. Taste is lageresque with some sweet and herbal notes. Okay. But quite watery and noninteresting. Country #102!

(bottle) clear pale gold with small white head; typical pilsner aroma; balanced flavour; average - which means good for mass produced Asian beer

20 oz bottle smuggled back to Texas from Taiwan. Rich golden color with a foamy white head that lasts the drink. Pilsner malt aroma. Flavor is bitter malty with a nice hop presence. Finish is quick and a little dry.

From bottle into standard shaker pint glass. Typical pour for an import lager: 1" white head that sticks for a minute and dies to nothing. Translucent yellow-gold. Aroma is faint, and old-smelling...somehow like skunky honey. Flavor starts out honey, 100%--actually pretty tasty--then devolves into strange fruity lager. Touch of hops buried in there. Super sweet finish. Strange beer--highs and lows. I could see myself enjoying a few with some classic Thai dishes.

Color is super pale! White head that is very pale. Smell is pretty awful. Beer is cold. Cardboad box taste. Skunk.

Poured a very pale yellow with a big white head. Aroma is pretty awful with vinegar and skunk. Some honey. Taste is syrupy with rice. Some grain flavors. Not bad, but not great, at least not too watery.

Green bottle. It isn’t skunked. It is a bit on the fruitier, nuttier side for a pale lager, still sucks.

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2011 Taiwan beer gold is a good beer. Better than the standard affair. It’s fantastic with food. The taste is slightly citrus with a rice edge. The palate is a little metalic but overall it’s a very enjoyable lager. What’s laughable is how much it wants to be Heineken ( label, bottle and little awards on the sticker). Which is a shame because it doesn’t need to pretend to be another beer. As a local of taiwan I’ve consumed a ton of these and will continue to do so.
