Beer is definitely Japanese micro-brewed. Hoppiness is a little more than regular Taiwan Beer. Rice adds sweetness and tones out bitterness. Smoothness is fair, and thickness is minimal.

Bottle from 99 Ranch Market. Pours a medium golden color with moderate head. Slightly sweet grainy aroma with some traces of maltiness. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Lightly bitter grainy flavor with a little bit of malt. Very crisp balanced flavor. Much better than expected. Very respectable for the style. Bitter finish.

Crystal clear coloured golden body with a nice dense white head. Aroma of fresh sugar cane, wheat and a bit of curacao and coriander seed - nice! Light-bodied; Strong wheatie flavour with a little sweetness and a more overpowering maltiness coming behind with a bit of spice and some light citrus tastes. Aftertaste shows a faint wit taste and a little more malt - perhaps showing corn or rice. Overall, not as good as the beer in a can, and since I was one who was REALLY surprised by that a few years ago, I still think this is best than most give it credit for. However, when I’m in Taiwan, I will actively search out this and the canned beer, as they are better than anything i’ve had in Mainland China and Hong Kong. I sampled this 600 mL bottle purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington on 11-November-2008, sampled at home in [the real] Washington on 23-February-2009.

I enjoyed this beer consumed regularly over the course of my three week stay in Taiwan. Bottle and can. More complex flavour than Taiwan Beer. Sweetish taste. Light golden colour. Light carbonation. Medium head. Pleasant aroma.

(bottle) clear pale gold with small white head; typical pilsner aroma; balanced flavour; average - which means good for mass produced Asian beer

Bottle, thanks After4ever! Pours clear gold with a lacy white head. I’m not so sure this deserves a gold medal, but at least it doesn’t suck hard. Pours clear gold with a lacy white head. Faint aroma of grass and corn. Light and somewhat watery body with light carbonation. Sweet biscuit taste with a corny edge. Not much in the finish.

20 oz bottle smuggled back to Texas from Taiwan. Rich golden color with a foamy white head that lasts the drink. Pilsner malt aroma. Flavor is bitter malty with a nice hop presence. Finish is quick and a little dry.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours light gold with a slight, creamy white head. Aroma is grainy/bready with some light grassy hop. Near medium body. Flavor is mildly bready, very slightly grapey, and there’s a decent amount of grassy bitter. Finishes on the dry side.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Stew41 (1459) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - JUL 26, 2008
Very typical Asian lager but quite tasty and refreshing. Quite a sweet layer from the malts and adjuncts but a character that is quite enjoyable. Light finish with a mild honey overtone.
