In 1998 the Golden Brau brand started being produced, currently being the best-sold beer in Romania. The beer has a clear appearance, with a characteristic glitter and carbon dioxide pearls, having white, dense foam leaving a lacy trace on the glass. The yellow color reflects the image of golden wheat fields in the summer heat. The carbon dioxide content creates a sensation of liveliness and coolness.

Editor’s Note: This brand is also produced at other Brau Union plants, most notably Wieselburger in Austria.
ABV and Plato went from 4.8% and 11° to 5% and 11.2°.

Bottled at RBESG 2008. A light golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of malt and dusty hops. The flavor is sweet with light notes of malt and metal, leading to a dry finish.

1,5 litre PET, licence brewed in Croatia. Very pale lager, thin and watery. When you find local beers in Southern Europe with German-sounding names with umlaut, it is not a sign of quality!

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2013 Re-rate 4/13: Can sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks kerenmk. Clear yellow. Grainy aroma with a bit of cornm, a bit of hay and faint metallic and herbal notes. Sweetish and grainy flavor with some corn and faint bitterness in the finish. Light-bodied. Non-offensive. 4/2/4/2/8=2

Scraping the bottom of the Croatian supermarket barrel now. Gave in eventually and basketed a 1.5L park bench plastic bottle in Studenac. Hop aroma detectable- sweaty, grassy, slightly herbal. Hisses and then dies. Head gone in minutes. Coniferous cardboardy noble hoppage, pale peanutty malt, maize and astringency. Pretty much how you’d expect a 14KN plastic bottle of lager to taste. Aromas of corn, cabbage and sideboard. Assumes an undrinkable headless stillness like it’s been left out in the rain all night. 250ml might be drinkable, 1500ml is not.
