Great beer at a great price. Mine was initially too cold and I really had to sniff hard for the aroma and, when it had come it didn’t stick around. Muted hops and sweet malt coupled with the hazy amber colour made me think this might be straying more towards a red than an IPA. Wrong. It does have a nice strong malt, but this is still very typical IPA. And a very good one, at that.

a crackingly good beer, bursting with the hops, and backed with some malt sweets, not to fizzy not to flat, great colour, good length, I’d hunt this out if it was on tap at my local. Get in!

Orange amber in colour with a good collar of latte coloured head (poured off handpull). Plentiful aromas of concentrated fruits: the usual suspects of peaches, apricots, nectarine lobes, fruit leather etc. Not an enormous flood of spruce or resin, but then there doesn’t need to be as there is plenty to love about the aroma as there is. A good chewable beer as this has plenty of body and a blast of bitterness. I think that when a beer like this comes out there is an immediate comparison to West Coast IPAs, but it isn’t that. It is a more elegant offering. I have one beef in that it has such a large abv. I’d love to have this in a 330ml bottle after dinner with some cheese, but a 425ml midi at a pub just saw me reel a little. I realise the time and the place is entirely my fault, but for all the bitchingI offer, this is lovely beer.
