1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 omhper (15964) - Stockholm, - JUN 5, 2006
[Bottled] Golden colour, no head. Some estery artificial strawberries jumps at me at the first sip.It has a rock hard crystal malt character only interrupted by some sticky rice. No hops can be detected.

330ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a small white head that leaves very little lacing behind. Aromas are light cereal grains and grassy hops. Taste is quite malty sweet with a mild grassy hop bitterness that tends to linger. Typical macro style lager.
1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 maekchu (174) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 29, 2012
Strange chemical, bad wine aroma, touch of moldy hay. Very pale straw color w/ little visible carbonation. Dryish, yuck, unpleasant aftertaste. Thin body, all flavors fade quickly. The label claims that it won gold medals at "Monde Selection" in 1982 and ’83. I doubt that this one is THAT old ... but it tastes fairly gone.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 BREWMUSKCLES (1690) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 15, 2012
genuine real corn flavor in wheat aged with fresh processed wood composite slightly smoked and with it’s acre intact. balanced dark sweetness refreshes with a tight cleansing finish. A brew that would go well with certain foods.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 SHIG (2707) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - NOV 6, 2011
Bottle: Drank from the bottle not from a glass. The aroma was corn and grain. Taste was very bland with some sour grain.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 riversideAK (4568) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - AUG 25, 2011
Nose is full of corn, corn nuts, buttery notes, and a hint of bread and a pile of grass. Not awesome. Pours golden, thin fizzy head. The flavor has more notes of corn nuts, corn bread, grass that has been sitting in the front yard for a week, and thats about it. Sounds bad, was pretty not good. It did however seem to work with the spicy indian food I was eating.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 shonobiwan (109) - Sound Beach, New York, USA - AUG 7, 2011
Long Island, NY - 1L bottle, poured clear amber with about 1.5 fingers worth of head with a medium amount of lace. Aroma was sweet and malty. Initial taste was sweet with a strange aftertaste that was a malt/hop/metallic. I believe this is what people come back for. I can see how this beer could go with some rotis and dal. Not bad for a beer that has been around for more than 125 years. Cheers!

***review from Dec 20, 2007***
"the worst...THE WORST BEER EVER TO DISGRACE A GLASS! I am not kidding, every whiff that abuses my nose makes me almost puke...serious, so close. Now, I realize that I may have gotten a bad bottle but I’ve had my share of horrid Indian beers and this one is truly the epitome of ungodly. Kill me now...no, wait for me to get this review in first.
Ok...this is undoable. I can’t smell it long enough to grasp the abominations that eminate from my glass, which is begging me to smash it. It’s a horrid blend of vomit inducing smoke, garbage liquid at the bottom of a dumpster, sweet and probably cashews! ... forget it this will never touch my lips. I could give it a 6 for appearance but I just can’t do it....update - it has taken almost 45 minites for my stomach to go off of Red Alert...the beer is gone, the bottle is gone and my brain is still sending that putrifaction of stench to my gut....I need to give this lower marks - how do I enter negative values? May Vishnu send a herd of cows to trample me as soon as possible.
