Really enjoyable subtle pale ale. Nice slightly full malt base with a subtle flavour of hops. Rated possibly a little higher because of the currie I had this beverage with. Really nice.

A simple, well-made, refreshing beer. Yes, it does have a bit of complexity if you want to go that deep, but to me this beer is just saying, "Quaff me now, Iím easy". Disclaimer: Iím drinking and reviewing this mild-mannered reporter of a beer immediately after sharing a palate-wrecking Hop Zombie with the missus, so maybe, just maybe, Iím missing a bit of subtlety.

seems a very well made stock standard pale ale to me, with just the right level of refreshing hop bitterness. it isnít unique but itís a refined example of the style.

Had to let it sit in my chalice before detecting a faint, surprising sweetness. "Pure Canterbury water" is listed on the labelís front-matter, and perhaps there is good reason: a slight viscosity or smoothness to the beerís texture is apparent, an unusual quality even for a seasoned pallet. More important, everything is well balanced, with a fine, lemony tang following a thick, spicy gulp.

Subtle hop floral aroma. Orange colour with nice head. Citrus flavours with soft hop finish. Very pleasant.

I do have a cold, but I got very strong hops and a tartness without a bitterness that is quite pleasant. I donít get any maltiness (I d have a cold). This is a bit good, Iím enjoying it.
A strong, i.e., well crafted, beer

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2012 Pours amber with tan head. Sweet aroma with hints of coriander. Initial taste is nutty leading to a caramel biscuity bitter

On tap. There was good and bad here. If I look beyond a flaw it was a perfectly sessionable ale - however I think it had a mild infection. There was a distinctive spicy charachter I have come across before that I associate with a yeast infection. It was still drinkable, just not as it should have been for the style - which was apparent in both aroma and flavour.

Copper, rich and malty - quite traditional IPA in that respect. Hops provide bitterness and backbone.

caramel, toast, resin, grass, herbs, earthy, This Pale Ale pours a nice copper colour with a nice white head which lingers. The aroma is slightly hoppy with herbal notes coming through. The taste is a little caramel with a nice blend of hop resinous flavours flowing accross the tongue falling away slowly to a nice bitterness which accentuates the malt profile. Carbonation is just right and helps preserve a thin head through to the bottom of the glass!
