2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 GeneralGao (3545) - Iowa City, USA - MAY 25, 2007
12 oz bottle purchased at John’s Grocery in Iowa City, IA. Poured a clear orange color. Head was off white with good retention and lacing. Pleasant aroma of graham cracker and resiny hops. Dry and bitter on the tongue with citrusy hop accompanied by a good dose of hop bitterness. There is a stale malty molasses flavor that detracts. Smelled good, but not very tasty.

Tasted 9/22/08. 12oz bottle. Thanks Keir. Clear with a golden hue. Moldy off-white head. Mild nose with grapefruit citrus notes. Medium bodied with crisp malts, but the floral Cascade hop dominates. Crisp hop palate. Solid. Really nice and highly drinkable plae ale.

I really like this beer. Pours a golden brown and has a pale white head. I’ve had this beer three times and each time it gets better. Deffinately worth trying.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 esjaygee (2599) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 16, 2008
Semi hazy amber with a quickly dissipating white head that laces a little as it fades. Aroma of floral and citrus hops, yeast, cereal with some vegetal properties. Body is effervescent with citrus and caramel leading up to a medium bitter finish that has some sweetness to it. The hop character on the finish isn’t very well defined… Bargain bin pale ale.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 twindadplus2 (515) - Wisconsin, USA - JUL 12, 2008
Coppery brown color with a small but firm head. Herbal and citrus bitterness in the aroma along with a hint of grain and malt. Flavor is a light hit of tart citrus with a cereal malt finish. It’s a little lighter than most APA’s but still a very drinkable beer. Nice to see City Brewery branching out a bit.

Herbal, leafy, citrusy hop aromas. Leafy bitterness, coppery metallic edge. Simple and drinkable.

Picked this up at a local shop because it was a bit different and very cheap. Pours an copper color with a decent head but nothing to rave about. The scent is citrus mixed with cheap beer/malt liquor. The taste matches the smell pretty well. The flavor of this beer is pretty much Old Style with grapefruit/lemon flavoring. Did not care for it too much.

12oz bottle - Pours a nice honey color with medium head with nice lacing on glass as I drank. Very nice floral hop aroma. Taste is light malt with very little taste on palate with a light hop finish. A decent brew but not a whole lot going on in the taste area. Tastes similar to a homebrew kit.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 IlanMan (1015) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 30, 2007
Not one of my favorite pale ales. Had a decent hop character but not much else. I agree with Haslinger. Drinkable but nothing special.

Pours clear with a minimal head. Nothing special. A typical pale ale. Drinkable but not notable.
