UPDATED: FEB 13, 2008 Nice old style label on this 12 oz brown bottle. Has a somewhat fruity aroma to it. Also, it has that typical background aroma I find in most City beers, cornish or industrial plastic. At first the pour is clear orangish yellow but after you roll the sludge off the bottom of the bottle it turn swirling cloudy. Has a white girdle around the inside of the glass for a head. Has some carbonation in there that causes a few streams of bubbles to be constantly rising. Flavor is sort of wheatish but there is also some coarse bitterness in there too. This again is something I find in most City brews no matter what the style. Not quite as good as I think a wheat should be. This could be a little more well behaved if it had some manners. Cannot detect any honey in there. Comes across a little strong on the alky side for a wheat. Mild to medium back of throat bitterness on the sides of my tongue. Not as good as many other american wheats I had.

Onenote81 (902) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 23, 2012
Originally reviewed: 9/18/08. Brought this back with me from a trip to WI last month. This beer pours a slightly orange/golden color. Murky and cloudy. Pretty good-sized head on this, but it disappears fairly quickly. Minimal lacing. Not very sticky at all. Smells pretty avarage. Sweet malt some bread tones pulling through. A slight metallic bite at the onset. Some mealy taste going on. Very low bitterness. Crisp yet watery. Very drinkable, yet without alot of flavor. Average brew at best. Not the best representation of the style, but it was refreshing to quaff.

Bottle. Pours gold with a thin white head. Light malty/wheaty aroma, a hint of grain. The flavor has a light honey sweetness with a griny/wheaty base. Not bad.

Courtesy of Skyview. Hazy gold color with a very thin head. Aroma of damp cardboard and musty grains. Very tangy clover honey taste. Grains and a little wheat. Not too bad, actually.

Poured golden with a small head. Aroma of yeast and citrus. The taste had a strong medicinal quality and was not to my liking. It was so prominent that I couldn’t get past it and it ended up as a drain pour.

Pleasant but short-lived honey aroma. Slightly hazy amber pour. A modest white head nonetheless leaves a decent lacing. Flavor has pale malts and honey, minor off keys in the stale and soapy department. Husky wheat finish. Thin to medium body, has a pleasant kolsch-like dryness.

Cloudy apple juice with no head. Aroma of alcohol, sweet malt and honey. Taste of grain, sweet malt and honey. The eighth and final beer in my "get rid of the crap" in the fridge marathon – the second best of the lot and the one I managed to drink the most of before I poured it down the drain.

Rated low not because it’s terrible, but because it doesn’t taste like anything. Might as well be drinking water. Leaves a nice film on your teeth though if you’re into that kinda thing.

Narnad (1147) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - SEP 2, 2008
Pours a copper cloudy orange with a good head. Quite a bit of wheat aroma but it was tainted by an underlying aroma of a macro beer underneath. Flavor is macro at the start and finishes with a slight honey and wheat flavor. For how cloudy the beer is there is very little yeast flavor in the brew. Overall its a pretty poor example in my opinion of a wheat beer. Just plain and non-memorable.

phishpond417 (2089) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 24, 2008
Decent beer, pours a cloudy dull yellow coloured with a fairly lage white head. Diminishes quickly and leaves behind little evidence of a head. Aroma is mellow, soft honey, wheat and pears. Taste is light, slightly watery but refreshing.

Medium head with little retention or lace. Aroma is light for a wheat with no real smell other than yeast. Flavor is a little sour but you get past that quick and can taste the honey. (If you pour it then swirll the yeast cake and add that you get the haze and nice yeast flavor)
