Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Clear half-dinner glass? From: Whole Foods in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Price: $2.69 Purchased: July 30, 2016 Consumed: July 30, 2016 Reviewed as: American Pale Lager Misc.: Packaged on May 2, 2016 Had been semi-wanting to try this for a while, even with Golden Road selling out to AB. Kind of like their beers for the most part and picked this up against my best wishes as a single for a way-to-high price of $2.69 at Whole Foods in Manhattan Beach. Did not know the price until I saw it pop up on the screen. It’s hot out, hopefully that can push this to the 3.50-to-3.60 range. Poured a light yellow clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of off-white fizzy head. Tons of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Bad watery lacing. Poor retention. (Sight - 3.00) Smelled boozy malts, grass, simple grain, hay, corn cereal and slight vomit. (Smell - 3.25) Tasted much better than the nose. So refreshing was my first thought on the taste. Got corn cereal (Kix or Corn Pops), hay, grass, honey and grain. (Taste - 3.75) Light body. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt, lean, crisp, watery finish. Refreshing. (Feel - 4.25) This was probably better than I thought it was going to be. Not sure I’d have it again (#CraftAdjace, you know?), but it was good for this heat. (Overall - 3.75) 3.64 82 B

Clear light gold, foamy head, very effervescent. Grainy cereal (Cheerios) with mild hopping. Very light, I don’t get "full-flavored", it is crisp with hints of spice at the finish. Well, it’s not bad, just very boring IMO.

Draft at Casino Inn in Alpine. This is pretty much what their entire tap lineup looked like. Nothing to get so why not get something different. Not so good.

Can. Pale gold with a frothy inch of white head that collapses. Aroma of hay, some honey, grass, some pepper. Sweet with a decent grassy bitter finish. Unfortunately the malt is both a bit papery and grainy and comes across as a bit cheap. But the finish is OK.

Pours a finger and half of head on a clear light straw body. The aroma is mild grains and a little lemon. The taste mild balance of bitter and malty sweet. The texture is crisp and fizzy. It’s an average light(er) lager.
