COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summer needs a siren, so we brewed this beer to ring in another toasty Los Angeles summer. This bright, refreshingly tart wheat beer is our ode to the traditional German Berliner Weisse, which boasts some substantial pucker power. Take much to tradition? Ask for yours served with Woodruff or raspberry syrup. You may call this beer “Summer in a Glass” if you’d like.

bleh. Taste, aroma even appearance all seem like lemons on wheat soaked water. I must admit this is my first time trying the style but holy nuts this was tough to get dow. Super puckering, not rewarding, not refreshing. I will say it looks good.

Tap at Brother’s Provisions. Pours hazy yellow with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is earthy wheat malt, lactic sourness, grapes and lemon. Flavor is tart and lactic lemon and grapes, earthy hops and light bitterness with wheat malt and a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Draft on tap at Aces & Ales Tenaya (Las Vegas, NV). Nice to be back. Pours a cloudy yellow pour, a darker glow and dulled body in this light shows a bit of flab, bready slurry with frothy whitish head atop. A potent layer sticks around fairly well, frothy film sticks and laces fairly well. Aromas show some dry grainy malts, bready malts and tart lactic zing. Lemony life, a bit of rind and some juicy citric sourness. Gentle yogurt, mellow grainy malts show softened sweetness. Initial is lighter and more effervescent than you’d think. Some peppy sourness attacks the palate, more lemon and citric zing, faint white grape meets bready malts, dry grain and straw. Bubbly and effervescent this pops pretty well. Backend is dry, slick and lactic. Lingering yogurty, acidic jabs. Some dryness. While it’s not the most complex it’s tasty, a firm sourness and quite drinkable. Definitely not the prettiest but it offers a pretty good Berliner overall. Nice.

Nice hazy pour with 1 finger quickly dissipating micro-bubbled head. Simple yeasty, lightly malty and citrus nose. Very light and clean. Light and tart with a thinner palate. Bright mouthfeel gives way to a slightly sticky end. The taste is dominated by lemon and orange juice. Citrusy to be sure. Palate is yeasty and crackery malts. End is yeasty and citrusy. Nice Berliner. A little too sweet and sticky.

"Straw yellow cloudy pour, light body and flavor even for the style. But what is there is good, tart lemo and wheat on the nose and palate. Finishese clean and tart. Refreshing."

Draft. Pours hazy yellow-ish with a white head. Moderately tart citric acidity, a light wheaty base, low sweetness, and a nice zippy lemony tart finish. A chugger, for sure.

Thanks to errl for sharing this growler. Straw-colored pour with a white head. The aroma and flavor have some nice wheat and light lemon notes. The tartness makes the beer very easy to drink. Thin mouthful and medium carbonation. Nice beer.

Tap. Raspberry syrup? WTF?? Pours cloudy pale yellow, without the fucking syrup thank you. Small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is wheat, lemon, grain. Flavor is quite light tart, lightly sweet, notes of lemon and wheat. Pretty bland; now I see what the syrup is supposed to be for. Light body, high carbonation. Not a standout for the style.

Nice tart lactic aroma, some lemon in there. Flavor is full and nicely sour. Light and refreshing Berliner, but still full flavored. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Public beer & wine shop, Long Beach, 17/04/14. Clear pale golden witha moderate off white swirl atop the glass. Nose is lemon rind, straw, light spice. Taste comprises citric peels, grass, lemon sherbet, pinch of spice. Light in body, fine carbonation, crisp clean refreshing close. Simple refreshing ’linner.

Despite the fact there were a number of appealing house beers at Monkey Paw I started off with a pint of a low key session beer. This was a very nice berliner weiss with a slight West Coast twist to it. If somebody were to come to me saying "I do not like beer" I would offer them this and see if it changed their mind.
<br > Aroma / Appearance - A carbonated golden base bubbles like a soft drink. Pillowy white head are fluffy clouds crowning the sky during a brilliant sunset. Lemons, tart notes, and sweet lend it the profile of a fresh ginger ale or carbonated lemonade with a spritz of hops.

Flavor / Palate - Carbonated lemonade best sums up a profile which lacks the urgent punch of some berliner weisses. On the other hand it still has that nice effervescence that belies a true session beer. Dry champagne caps off a nice finish that refreshes even without the addition of any syrup.
