A rauch-IPA and it works. Really smoky on the nose and the first hit of flavor has that familiar BBQ notes but then the hoppines butts in and balances it out. Really nice 3rd effort from this new brewery.

This IPA is pretty good. On tap at the brewery. Deep malty beer with a good amount of bitterness. Aroma is smoky.
Pretty smoky for an IPA. It is definitely the overriding flavor. Definitely a unique characteristic which makes it stand out. Overall pretty enjoyable!

Very surprising beer. Its a rauch beer from nose to finish, but highlighted by an incredibly available hopiness throughout the drinking and finish.
Smoke and hops have never been so nicely married.

This is my selection for BER OF THE YEAR. A smoked imperial IPA, wtf?
Can’t wait to get some more of this.

Appearance: Pours an amber orange with a small white cap of pillowy foam.
Aroma: smokey ham, pine and grapefruit hops. Spicy.
Taste. Smoked meat, bitter juicy hops. Slight medicine.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Overall: I love smoked beers and I love hoppy pales, and this particular combination of the two worked out really well.

On tap at the grand opening. Really an odd beer. Pours with a hazed golden-orange hue with a lasting off-white head. Aromas are lightly smokey, big bready and caramel malt notes. A bit of a citrus and floral hop character. Very different. Flavors are also very different than the norm (different, but not bad). Citrusy hop character, light caramel, wood/fire, smoke, biscuity malt profile (quite malty) and some alcohol notes. Medium to slightly fuller body. Not particularly dry. Medium bubbles. A unique and pretty tasty beer.

Tap at the Grand Opening. Rating #2. This was my first taste from the brewery and I was impressed. I didn’t get a lot if smoke from this, which is strange considering how much everyone else in my group was picking up. I just really enjoyed the IPA aspect of it, which was very nice. (1945)
