Very solid brown ale. Itís hard to give any brown ale a super high score, but this one really delivers what you want in an easy drinking session ale.
Not too chocolate heavy, not too bubbly. I think this is a british style brown as opposed to the sweeter American style version.

Body:Sweet roasted, hint of smooth chocolate. Light bitter hoppyness
Finish:Dry, sweet and more roasted and toasted flavors.
Over-all/Mouth-feel: Medium body. Sweeter than the normal west coast browns. The best beer from Golden Road I have tried so far.

Growler. Rating #1. Clear brown pour with a dirty white head. Nice toasted aroma with a light sweetness. Flavor is similar, nice toast with an underlying sweetness. Tasty stuff. (2137)

Best brown I have ever had. Smoky, hoppy with distinctive chocolatey malt. Excellent! Would drink again!! Great head...

Aluminum can from Sproutís: Poured dark leather brown which was propped with frothy topping of foam head that left behind plenty of lacing. Aroma was mild yet pleasant with a scent of lightly toasted malts and touch of assorted nuts that have been roasted. The flavor is bland and has a minor toasty nut flavor but other than that itís dull and reminds me of wet cardboard at moments.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Pours with a clear brown body with a lasting, off-white to khaki head. Aromas are of brown sugar, nutty, mild esters, dry with light roast and a hint of smoke. Flavors are dry, brown sugar, earthy, nutty, smoke, tobacco, dry chocolate and nougat. Medium bubbles and quite dry for a brown ale. Sessionable. Nice.

Canned from Windy City. Deep ruby on the pour. Sweet chocolate nose. A touch of roast and some tootsie roll. Sweet chocolate up front with a bit of roasted coffee bitterness. Pretty good coffee roast to it. Nice brown.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ it has a medium color in the glass. It has a mild hoppy aroma with some raisins. Taste has some bitterness but a roasted taste of nuts and some spice. Good finish.
