The two-row pale malt body takes a back seat to the Citra, Centennial, and New Zealand hops for a bright, citrus forward, summertime drinking IPA. Part of the proceeds from this beer will be donated to our hardworking friends at Heal the Bay - an organization committed to restoring and protecting the Southern California coastal waters and watershed.

Can shared at chriso’s - thanks to Ethereal. Pours clear yellow with a creamy white head. Lots of piney hops in the nose, melon, grapefruit. Medium sweet flavor with oily hops, pine needles, melon, ripe lemon. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Oily, resinous finish, moderately sweet with further piney bitterness, some citrus rind, juicy citrus fruits. Not bad.

Golden pour with a white head. Really nice fruit character on the nose. Big pineapple and grapefruit. Some orange, peach, and tangerine. Light pine and biscuit malt. Lightly sweet flavor of tropical fruit and biscuit. Pineapple, peach, grapefruit, and orange. Light pine flavor and bitterness.

Can from Trader Joe’s in Davis, CA. Pours clear gold with a transient white head. Aroma is a lot of grapefruit rind. Med body or nearly. Flavor is a lot of grapefruit rind, but there’s not a lot of caramel. Malt, but rather pale. Very interesting and unusual. It’s quite hoppy and bitter in the finish. Working very well for me.

Sample at the Tehachapi Beer & Wine Festival on 07/18/2015: Slightly cloudy yellow-gold color with a medium thick fluffy white head that diminishes gradually . Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of piney hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, tropical fruit and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Scopey (9372) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2014
Can thanks to Caspar. It pours clear golden with a medium white head. The nose is fresh, piney, sherbet, doughy, tangerine, dried mango and orange peel. The taste is bitter-sweet, pine needles, sherbet, brioche, candied peel, minerals and light alcohol with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty solid IPA action.

Tap at Venice Ale House. Glowing, light yellow pour with a medium, semi-rocky head leaving good layered lace. Nose is squashy, cheesy, a bit vegetal with parsnip and broccoli. Taste is white pepper, melon, sugar, dense rindy grapefruit. Lactic, fully bitter finish. Really all around save for cheesy, vegetal nose. Would be ~3.7 IPA without the DMS like flaws.

Taster at Hopgeist 2014. From a 16oz can. Clear golden color. Fine particles suspended in the body. Thin ring of off-white head, leaving good spread of lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Good kind of piney clean mildly citrusy hoppy aroma. Mildly grassy, good clean bready malt. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, lighter sweet. Easy-drinking yet satisfyingly hoppy. Impressive, bright IPA.

Draft - Heavy grapefruit on the nose. Clear gold with a rich head. Big up front grapefruit bitterness, followed by a dry resin. The huge bitterness lingers and is pleasant but unbalanced.nuts,

Canned July 1st, 2013. Pours with a crystal clear straw yellow hued body with a large white head. Nice hue for an IPA (read: not orange to amber). Aromas are of citrus, resin, light pine, mildly spicy, dank, tangelo, low c15 to carapils type malt. Some grassy qualities. Clean fermentation. Flavors are medium bitter, light malt, lots of tropical fruit, citrus and tangerine. Tastes a bit like a Drake’s IPA. Some grassy to resiny dry hop finish. Fruity hop profile, clean ester wise. Dry, low malt. Medium lively carbonation, lower body. Solid IPA from Golden Road, I could drink a few of these!
