The two-row pale malt body takes a back seat to the Citra, Centennial, and New Zealand hops for a bright, citrus forward, summertime drinking IPA. Part of the proceeds from this beer will be donated to our hardworking friends at Heal the Bay - an organization committed to restoring and protecting the Southern California coastal waters and watershed.

A really nice, refreshing IPA - lager look with a nice variety of citrus tasting hops - gives it a on the beach smooth taste and clean finish. Would recommend this over their Point the Way IPA

Got to try it on draft at the brewery abd I definitely smelt and tasted the awesome citrus aroma. Much smoother than point the way.

"I love Citra and Centennial hops, so not a surprise I loved this brew. A shot of citrus in the nose, with a soft easy drinking feel and wonderful spicy citrus flavor, with more complexity rhan expected. Solid enough to pack some home."

Pours a cloudy, pale orange with a short-lasting head. Lots of lacing. Big, citrusy aroma and taste. Golden Road's best so far. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a light orange with a small off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, tropical fruits, and sweet malts. Taste is the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, moderately bitter finish. Overall, a pretty nice IPA.

Clear golden yellow with a solid two-finger head that left a smooth film and very nice lace. Big grapefruit aromas up front, with biscuity malts and strong pine note coming later. Taste is mostly hop bitterness, with enough of a doughy malt presence to create a nice balance, though the hops certainly win the day. Medium to full body, generous carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and a crisp bitter finish.

Can from Trader Joe’s in Davis, CA. Pours clear gold with a transient white head. Aroma is a lot of grapefruit rind. Med body or nearly. Flavor is a lot of grapefruit rind, but there’s not a lot of caramel. Malt, but rather pale. Very interesting and unusual. It’s quite hoppy and bitter in the finish. Working very well for me.

Golden pour with a foamy white head. Grapefruit sweet nose with really clean hoppiness. tastes sweet up front, malty body, lots of Grapefruit and piney fresh hops. Really clean and crisp. Long bitter finish that keeps you coming back for more.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2014 A decent IPA, one of Golden Road’s better offerings but not quite top-notch. I prefer this to both the old and new Point The Way. Nice grapefruit aroma. I’ve found it to be a bit better on tap than canned, but perhaps that’s a freshness issue.

2014 update: Drinking a can, about 2 weeks old. Seems like a nice improvement over last year’s version. Bigger, fresher hop flavor than I recall. Citra, Centennial and Nelson come through. Pour is light gold, very transparent. The last time I revisited Point The Way it was also pretty good and I feel like Golden Road might be stepping their game up.

Thanks to jdurdz for sharing this can. Clear golden pour with a white head. The aroma has some heavy pine and orange citrus notes as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is more of the same. I get some nice bitter orange and resinous pine notes as well as some sweet biscuit malt. Medium bitterness and lots of hop flavor. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
