3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BucannonXC5 (333) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Poured from a pint can into a smaller glass at the Courtyard Marriott in Culver City, Calif. About a finger of head. Color was orange straw. Noticed a bunch of bubbles right away. Light white frothy lacing that went away fairly quickly. Light and sporadic film on the sides.
Potent smell of citrus wheat hops right up front, first orange, then lemon. Also got some banana malts. Some wheat and grass in there. Got the Circus Peanuts at the end.
Tasted very much like the smell. Got that orange and lemon citrus notes up front, but nicely balanced. Not so much a hefeweizen, but more of a wheat beer. A bit disappointed in the aftertaste though. It starts out so well, then just kind of fades out to a watery finish.
Light-to-medium body. Thin, watery texture. Heavily carbonated. Abrupt, watery finish.
A decent beer that started out with such promise. That being said, the smell and initial taste were both pretty good. It might be worth another try.

Golden in color, hazy with a thin head. Nice wheat aroma with some citrus aroma and flavor. Nice wheat flavors and light hops floral. This was a easy drinking Hefe. Not bad and interesting first one from a can.

Pretty good german hefe - hints of clove and banana, deep within you get the subtle smoke hints. Looks great! Such an easy drinker, what you would expect, just a little light on flavor. Mouthfeel is a little light for this style. I would like some more of the chewiness you get from a nice german style hefe. Overall this is an easy drinking beer with a nice citrusy twist.
4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 foamyhead (16) - California, USA - FEB 5, 2012
I was disappointed that at the brewery they don’t pour it with a big thick head like they do in Germany. I pour it thick out of the can and let the aromas emanate.
I actually like it better from the can than from the tap, but I’m not sure if that was just my mood or the product. More research will be needed in this area.
Unfiltered and beautifully so, the Hefe delivers in every way that a Hefe ought to.
Great big flavors of wheat, and spice with hints of citrus and banana. Nice light moutfeel that lets you knock em back and a great citrusy finish.
Great beer

Pours a cloudy golden amber color with a finger of white head. Smells a bit like a traditional hefeweizen with aromas of banana and hints of clove. But there’s also a lot of orange peel and some straw like notes that throw it off. Unfortunately, the flavor is a touch watery as well as being stuck in between being a witbier, a hefeweizen, and an American wheat beer. Some clove and banana, some yeast, some citrus, and some straw and grass flavors. Light bodied with medium carbonation.

Pours cloudy light orange-yellow with nearly no white head. Aroma is yeast, dough, grass, some banana. Taste is wheat, grass, earth, spice, banana. Mouth feel is thin, watery. Carbonation is moderate and nice. Not bad; I’m not partial to heffes.

Tap at the brewery. Rating #4. Dense dark yellow pour with a nice white head. Fruity aroma, mainly banana with a bit of lemon in there as well. Flavor was similar, sweet with banana and very easy to drink, i had a couple more of these before I left. (1946)
