Our first beer, a German style Hefeweißen, brewed with honey and northern California citrus fruit. It’s yeasty, with hints of citrus on the finish. UPDATE: This is *not* brewed with honey. It is 100% vegan.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2012 Easy drinking, but not necessarily rewarding Hefe from LA brewery. Purchased at local grocery store in a pack of 4 pint cans for $8 or $9. Appearance is hazy in the way a hefe should be. Aroma and flavor are both too simple, too faint to really appreciate. Tried adding some lemon but didn’t really help. Even after nearly a full lemon. For my money, I’ll stick with Widmer when I want a Hefe.

Sample on tap at Mendocino farms, LA. Clear straw, small head, not hazy, aroma is subtle for a hefe, pleasant clean and refreshing but lacking the great hefe character.

Santa Clara, Ca - Santa Clara Liquors - 12 oz can. Slight murkiness to the medium golden pour with a medium thick dirty snow colored head. Aroma has a brief hint of cloves, some glue - like artificial notes. Flavor is standard American hefe, light banana, a touch of banana, hints of coriander. Slightly artificial. Mouthfeel kind of pasty.

Pours light amber and slightly cloudy with virtually no head. Aroma is light and wheaty with slight orange citrus. Flavor is sweet and light with tangy hop notes rounding off the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured a hazy yellow amber colour with a one-finger white frothy head that retained OK and laced poorly. Carbonation low and fine. Aroma subtle of cloves with possibly a hint of yeast. Taste subtly of cloves and nothing else, the cloves becoming stronger as the beer warms. Light body, a bit thin. Finished with a slight bitterness. Cloves become more dominant as beer warms. Average hefeweizen.

CAN. Pale straw pour with small bubbly white head that disappears quickly.. Yeasty sweet banana nose.. Crisp feeling up front, generic hefe, orange, lemon.. finishing with a subtle crisp bitterness.. Better straight from the can.. Sourced Cellarbrations @ Capel

Spiced banana aromas. Glowing or age with a white frothy head. Very smooth definitely banana notes to the taste. Great body as expected from a hefe.
