COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This very special beer shares a name with Tony’s son, Hudson Porter. The recipe was inspired by Tony’s favorite home-brew and was discussed with Jon while they were driving on the autobahn in Germany. Tony and Jon brewed it together several months later to commemorate Hudson’s 1st birthday. Raise a glass to Hudson Porter and cherish the rich chocolate depths and sumptuous rye spice of this decadent brew.

The pour is almost black in color with a khaki head. Nose is heavy on the roasted malt and dark chocolate. Nice rye notes with a bit of coffee, molasses, and licorice. The flavor is lightly bitter with a lot of roasted malt, molasses, licorice, and dark chocolate. There’s also some hints of dark fruit, brown sugar, and rye on the palate.

On tap at Beer Revolution. It pours dark brown with a huge tan head. The aroma has lots of dry toast with a little chocolate and earthy rye malt. The flavor has some burnt toast with a little chocolate and rye. There are hints of roasted malt, but this isn’t real roasty. The body is full, the finish is dry. Not bad.

Nice strong and roasty beer. The spice plays in the background of this dark brown beer that tastes a little stronger than the 7% implies. On par with the stout from Golden Road.

Brown pour, beige head. Roasty with some coffee, yeast, rye and some minor chocolate. Some rye, coffee, chocolate flavors. It’s ok.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Light chocolate and malt aroma. Chooclate and light toffee flavor with malt and balancing hops. Medium bodied. Chooclate and light toffee lingers with light nuttiness.

Nice brown pour with a tan head. Roasted malt, coffee, deeply toasted bread, rye spice and cocoa powder. Flavor is a bit dry, very roasty with just enough chocolate notes. A bit of coffee too.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a near pitch black hued body with a large and lasting tan head. Aromas are roasty, spicy, rye, earthy, dark fruits, tobacco and milk chocolate. Flavors are very roasty, earthy, spicy, rye, tobacco, coffee grounds, and light smoke. Bitter balance with a bit of a carbonic bite. Medium to full carbonation. Dry finish, medium bodied with a hint of warmth.
