4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draft at Beer Revolution. This was a really nice surprise. It pours a beautiful golden color with a very rich, creamy white head. The aroma is nicely fresh hoppy with grass and some tropical fruit with a hint of caramel malt. The flavor is nicely balanced yet hop forward for a lower alcohol IPA. I picked up grass, canteloupe, tropical fruit, and just a hint of caramel sweetness. It had a nice bitter finish. This reminded me of Firestone Pale 31, only with a tad more malt balance. Iím impressed.

This beer should be a perfect 5, but itís hard to give the nuts to a beer with only 5.2%. These guys have done an outstanding job making an approachable IPA. KUDOS

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Pours a dark amber with a hazy body and a decent off white head.
Aroma: Citrus piney hop bouquet. A little spicy too.
Taste. Piney grapefruit melange. Spicy. Sweet caramel like malt holding it together.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with average carbonation.
Overall: This beer is exactly as advertised: a drinkable California hoppy ale. Itís very balanced, and has just the right amount of malt for those scared of something like Stone Ruination. Good gateway craft.
