UPDATED: JUN 28, 2013 Pour out of 16 oz can, thanks to Aaron...I guess. Pour is cardboard, lemon, slight biscuit, and bready, hints of slight sweaty sock as well, some mineral notes. Taste is some biscuit, vanilla, some slight grass and pine, off cardboard, sweaty funky notes, hints of minerals, slight sour-ish note, finishing fairly sweet. Yikes. Rerate: fresh can, not infected. Much better, clean biscuit, lemon, grass and pine notes, slight citrus as well. Nice.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2013 Can from the brewery. Pours a light amber/golden color with frothy white head. Aroma is very pine, grapefruit and hoppy. Taste is a light bitter hop, pine, citrus, slight sweetness and some light biscuit malt. Overall, this was crazy good from a brewery that I’d heard nothing about that is almost in my backyard. At only 5.2% this is going to be my local go to camping beer.

OldGrowth (2645) - North Carolina, USA - APR 27, 2012
Pint at Blue Palms Brewhouse. On aroma, sweet.citrusy, orange and grapefruit , clean golden orange color ok head, spotty lace. Bittersweet flavor. Lighter body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, Bittersweet finish. Pretty dull, this doesn’t hold up with all else that is available, call it a lawnmower ipa.

Can @ home. Clear, dark orange appearance with a big, off white head. A little spicy, toasted citrus fruity, floral hoppy, toasty malty aroma. Toasty, somewhat bready malty, earthy, spicy hoppy flavor. Pretty good but I probably should have drank this fresher.

Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice Hops aroma and flavor. Citrus and light floral flavors. Good malt flavor and balance, This was a nice dry finish IPA brew.

24 mar 2012, tap. Yellow, clear, no bubbles. Thin body and fizzy. Pine/spruce hop flavor that dominates. It is very crisp. Meh.

Tap. Pours clear, vivid gold with rising, fizzy white head; good retention and some retention. Aroma is orange, floral hops, yeast biscuit malt, and grassy notes. Flavor is malt forward, mostly hops, and light citrus esters; dry, semi-sweet finish. Light body, medium carbonation, and low warmth.

Tap at Hot’s Kitchen. Pours clear orange with a large, creamy off-white head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is dank and herbal hops, biscuit malt and fruity esters. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness with supporting malt and fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body, warmth and carbonation.

Ratman197 (9664) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Can courtesy of Bman1113VR (Thanks Andrew!) poured a clear amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, biscuit, mango and light pine. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, light tangerine, light mango and a hint of pine with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Anova167 (283) - Manhattan Beach, California, USA - MAR 12, 2012
This is another case of a beer that smells better than it tastes. Aroma is great citrus and peach. Straw colored in the glass with not much in the way of lacing. The flavor lacks the hop punch expected from the aroma, but is still pretty good. This finish is a little grainy and thin. This would be a good choice for a more sessionable IPA, but not my favorite.
