I like the can’s art more than the beer and the beer’s flavor. It has a lager-like quality, like a hoppy pils. It’s weird. Kinda hard mouthfeel. Lackluster flavor. Smelled good though, smelled fresh.

From 345 ml can. Pours a clear golden amber with a one-finger white head and fine carbonation. Aromas of pine, caramel, lemon, grapefruit and flowers. Taste is light citrus at at the front before a firm pine resin and grapefruit bitterness in the middle. There’s a light caramel at the end along with gentle citrus note. Decent malt backbone holds it all together. Like it a lot.

Can from The Wine Emporium 210814. Another great looking can from these guys, and the beer is pretty good as well.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pastel, sunny orange, misty and almost still in appearance with a shortlived, tight, white crown. Piney, resinous nose; quite camphorous and raw with plenty of grapefruit and blood orange coming through. Candyish, bitter, dry, creamy, full bodied, piney and malty sum it up nicely. Has a pleasant toasted malt base upon which layers of citric fruit, bitter, spicy, resinous whole hops and camphorous, pinewood flavours dwell. Good length; dry with plenty of bitterness. Nice body, not cumbersone and very soft in carbonation. Well rounded, fresh, bright and hoppy. This is a devilishly sessionable ale. Enjoyable! (12fl.Oz can, 07/10/14, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale malt and citrusy aroma. Clear golden with a big foamy white head. A maltier IPA in aroma and flavor like the traditional style. Pretty smooth and bold all the way around and a little spicy on the finish.

Can from Mane Liquor. Not too shabby at all! Nothing crazy as far as IPA’s go but it goes down easy. Lacks any real bitterness but has that pizzaz of familiar hops on the back end. Solid stuff

Again, just not overly impressed with the Golden Road IPAs. I keep expecting to get more of a flavor profile from the hops, but it falls flat.

Can shared at chriso’s - thanks to Ethereal. Pours clear yellow with a creamy white head. Pale bread in the nose, some pine, honey, hay. Medium sweet flavor with oily hops, pine, white bread, light bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild resins to finish, further dry pale bread, pine needles. Very decent.
