COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a balanced showcase of the majestic hop specie, in Latin, Humulus Lupulus, which translates “Wolf Among Weeds”. It’s our celebration of California’s enthusiasm for hop-forward IPAs. At 8%, Wolf will sneak up on you from behind the robust citrus and dank earthy hop notes mirrored in its aroma and flavour profile.

Pours a clear pale straw yellow with a big foamy white head. Crisp, tart, sweet citrus aroma. Very smooth and light for a DIPA. Nice lingering flavors. Not harsh or bitter. Very enjoyable.

Poured from 2 tall boy cans bought at the foodery in Philly shipped home in my luggage. This one is slightly hazy amber, spicy, gritty, really dry in a good way, sorta lemony, and strong (in ABV not in taste) Since I transported this 1/3 of the way back to where it was made I’m hoping I can find this in Chicago.

A solid combination of a number of different hops styles. Piney aroma with some pronounced grapefruitiness and musty grass aroma. Tried at the Great Nebraska Beerfest with Jess in 2016.

Wolf Among Weeds is only my second beer from LA’s Golden Road, but it seems fair to say that the brewers know what to do with hops. Golden-colored and hazy. Aromatics are floral, grassy, piney, citrusy, and lightly spicy. Flavor profile has pine needles, grapefruit juice, tropical fruit zest, pineapple, melon, peach, and nectar. Balance is definitely hop-forward; the alcohol is totally concealed. Wet, juicy hop resins. Sticky feel - lingering bitterness left behind. I need more Golden Road in my future.

Draft/Fest. A- Pine, dank. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Pine, tropical fruits. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Pretty standard DIPA. I have to say, I like the Wolf Pup session better. Almost the same but the session showcases the fruity side of the hops so much better than here where the pine bitterness is the forefront.

Draft. Pours a medium, gradually collapsing, off white head, over a slightly hazy yellow (SRM 3) body.......nose is pine, resin, grapefruit peel, mildly dank, light malts, balance to the hops.......taste is mild malts, pine, resin grapefruit peel, light tropical fruits, mild melon, slightly dank, balance to the hps.......mouth feel, light of medium body, mild alcohol, high carbonation. This is a very typical rendition of the newer style IPA and I/DIPA with minimal malts, to allow the newer style of hops to dominate in both aroma and flavor. Rating above to appreciation, below to style. BJCP 8/4/14/4/7
